Endorsed for Best Publicity and Event Planning by The George Washington University, and winner of the Small Cap Awards and Rowan University Public Relations National Organ Donor Awareness Competition, Camille Davis of MontagePR is known for planning, executing and launching high-profile Public Relations & Marketing Campaigns, Promotions and Events.
MontagePR acquired placements for their clientele with WeTV, Essence, ABC, CBS, and features in SHEEN Magazine, The Washington Business Journal, The Examiner, Washington Life, Sirius XM, Radio One and more.
CEO Camille Davis possess a B.A. in Public Relations from Penn State (2007) in addition to a Master of Tourism Administration from GWU (2009). She is considered a Media, Events and Branding expert.
After rebranding in 2019, MontagePR exclusively focuses on increasing brand awareness, loyalty and retention for Small-and-Women Owned Businesses.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In 2014, I stepped back from representing clients full-time to be a caregiver for her mother.
In 2017, my life changed forever. I welcomed my first son in March of 2017, all while moving homes; to be followed immediately by the death of my grandmother, mother and father within the next year.
In an effort to mask the pain and keep my mind busy, I forced herself back to business. While breastfeeding and with a baby boy (Shawn) in tow, the “mompreneur” arose. The pain haunts me daily; however, I find joy in helping others grow (their business in particular) and gathering impressions and press clippings for my clients.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about MontagePR – what should we know?
If you’re looking to strategically increase your reach and maximize the number of impressions your brand or product receives, MontagePR is the company for you. Media Relations is one tool/service that MontagePR provides; with over ten years of experience in building relationships, I have a hearty media list and pride myself on it.
I am most proud to be in business for ten years this month. For a PR girl, who never envisioned being a business owner; surviving more than five years as a small-business is a triumph in itself.
Not only does I have the educational background to support my knowledge of the industry and best practices, having “integrity” sets me apart from the rest and also sets the tone for my company culture.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I have always been “A” type. Loud. Energetic. Busy.
I was my mother’s only child and my father’s youngest girl. The daughter of two DC police officers who were very strict, yet gave their very best to ensure their daughter had the best education and access.
I balled with the boys, yet was the captain of my high school cheerleading team. I was the Student Government President who was also on National Honor Society and a Peer Minister. I achieved with distinction and headed every extracurricular activity and student organization I sat in both High School and College.
I literally gave myself an anxiety attach in college, for the great responsibilities that I placed on my shoulders. Later to find I may have empathic traits/abilities as I more often wear the weight of the world on my shoulders. Unfortunately, I still care way too much about what people think of me (I now know this is my parent’s fault lol).
