Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathryn Kain.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was in property management for over 17 years and 4 years ago, decided to make some changes in my life. I knew I wanted to continue in a career which included customer service. Through a personal friend, I learned of an opportunity and set up an interview at Sugar Magnolia Bed and Breakfast. The minute I walked in, I immediately felt this was where I needed to be! Debi, the owner emailed the same day and offered me the job and I began a wonderful new career as the Innkeeper for the beautiful Sugar Magnolia! From day one, it has been an adventure and learning experience. I have the pleasure of having wonderful mentors and bosses, Debi Starnes and Jim Emshoff. The guests are also amazing! We host guests who are visiting for everything from honeymoons, anniversaries, weddings at the Trolley Barn, training at the Justice Center, grandparents visiting new grandchildren and all sorts of other business and recreation trips!!! We adore and appreciate all of the special people who stay with us at Sugar Magnolia.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It is incredibly important to maintain our great reputation and I am always eager to make sure our guests are comfortable and happy in every way possible. On occasion, there might be a glitch and this can be stressful. We always want to know, from our guests, if there is anything that needs attention.
