Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Johnson.
Ashley, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
First, I want to start of by saying thank you for allowing me to share my story again! As far as how I started, Ayschel Boutique was something that I envisioned almost ten years ago. I had the opportunity to work part time at a women’s clothing boutique during college. There were many days where the owner left me in charge of running her boutique for her. I fell in love with the process, from receiving new inventory to helping the customers choose the perfect outfit for them. This experience alone, gave me the vision to eventually start my own business, which is what Ayschel Boutique is today.
Has it been a smooth road?
Interestingly enough, my answer during this interview is COMPLETELY different than the first interview we did together lol. To answer your question, no, it hasn’t been a smooth or easy road. Entrepreneurship is NO joke! There are many days where I have felt discouraged because I didn’t receive any sales or felt like throwing in the towel. As an entrepreneur, you always expect others to share your vision with you. I’m six months in now, and I can definitely say that is not the case. I’ve learned that you have to truly believe in your brand, despite the number of sales you’ve made. Butttt, I will say that even though I have days where I feel like giving up, there are days where I feel on top of the world. So yes, entrepreneurship isn’t easy, but it is DEFINITELY worth it!

Simply put, Ayschel Boutique is an online women’s clothing boutique that caters to all women. My goal is to make women feel confident, elegant, and sexy in their own skin. I want women to feel good and stand out when they’re wearing something from my boutique. I absolutely love classy and elegant clothing, and I’ve incorporated that within my brand. I want women to be able to purchase something from my boutique, and still be able to wear it years from now, especially since being classy never goes out of style.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Absolutely! Atlanta has so much to offer, especially to entrepreneurs! There’s so many ways to network and get to know people here in the city. There’s room for everyone to succeed here. Since launching in August 2019, I’ve been able to connect with so many different entrepreneurs within different industries. Atlanta is home to some amazing millennial entrepreneurs!
