Today we’d like to introduce you to Shawnna Hanley.
Shawnna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Have you ever wished you could give your younger self some tips and advice? That you could tell your younger self, “No don’t go down that path” or “Yes, go that way, it may seem hard but it’ll pay off if you stay steadfast in it.” Well, I realized that I can’t change the past and the whirlwind of choices that I’ve had to make but I can create a better legacy and give that advice to them. That’s when I woke up one day and decided to take what I like to do most and my passion for a better future and start a company with my legacy on it.
I started La Creme as a mobile beverage company in September 2017 and then expanded the services to full-service catering later. La Creme represents the fight for a better legacy and future for those who follow after me. It represents faith, strength and wisdom, all of the qualities I had no choice but to acquire in order to succeed. La Creme was created so that I could have the opportunity to say, “No matter what you go through, you can do all things…” So although I can not give my younger self advice, I can tell my future legacies, “There is nothing more special than a woman who overcomes everything that is meant to destroy her.”
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s definitely been a bumpy road for me. I started this company as a single mom of one. I was dealing with domestic violence on one hand and struggling to stay above water financially on the other hand. Although I’ve overcome those things, building a business is a constant challenge if you are leveling up, the challenges I faced certainly made me stronger and more motivated.

La Creme is a full-service Catering company. We provide food, drinks, bar, and service to events in and around Peachtree Corners, GA. The thing I’m most proud of as a company is the love and support I get and give back to my community. La Creme has sponsored events for nonprofits and organizations that help our youth in the community.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is a great place to start whatever you want to do. It houses so many people with that same mindset that it allows this city’s economy to thrive.
