Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Arnett.
Ashley, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It all started Freshman year of college second semester, I just quit my job in fast food and I had a negative bank account due to my account over drafting from college book rental. I couldn’t find a job with 18 credit hours, and I had no money to survive. My roommate gave $50 for food and toiletries… but instead, I put it on a prepaid card and ordered a few things to sell around campus. Fast forward a year later, I accumulated money to purchase more inventory and move online. I had no money for a coach, web designer, logo, etc. I self-taught, got all of the free info I could, watched my competitors and I did pretty well.
Eventually, friends at school asked me to help them, I started for free… then eventually came off with my girl boss starter kit that included vendors where you can get products and marketing tips. I sold that for $15. After selling 50 copies. I knew that this was something I wanted to do forever. I was receiving so many positive reviews and seeing others make money from my information made me happy, and that is when I discovered my purpose.
I eventually branched out into content creation, social media management, business coaching, and all things digital marketing. I took a leap of faith, dropped out of college and four years later, I run a full-service marketing agency responsible for producing hundreds of six figure businesses.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not smooth at all. Often times, we try to take the easy way out. Instead of being entrepreneurs, a lot of us start off as business owners. The difference is entrepreneurs sacrifice as much time and money as it takes… business owners just sell a product hoping people will buy it.
My advice is to invest in help from someone that has been where you are… it makes everything so much easier, and you’ll see success so much faster. Running a business is so much more than posting on social media. Focus on longevity vs. getting rich quick. Build a brand, don’t just sell a product
We’d love to hear more about your work.
For the last four years, I’ve served as a creative digital marketing genius for over 400 entrepreneurs. I can create content and money-making strategies with my eyes closed… literally. I’ve mastered the art of automated marketing and making money in your sleep… aka.“sleep coin”
I offer marketing services, such as Social media management. Content creation, email marketing, text marketing, Facebook and google ads creation, business coaching, and more. I am a no fluff digital marketer. I don’t motivate, I educate. I am different from other marketers because I am 100% confident in my services. I have a 30-day money-back guarantee that I offer for all services, that’s how confident I am that I can take your brand to the next level.
There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
When searching for a mentor or coach or marketer… beware of those that constantly show what they make, and barely show clients reviews and numbers Look for someone that has a great personality and is enjoyable to work with because more than likely, it’ll be a long term relationship.
Also, don’t look at how much you’re spending on help… look at how much you can possibly make. You’re not paying for a service… you are paying for the results. Unique shaped business cards or digital business cards that you can airdrop are best for networking. Brand apparel is also great. Networking on social media can be sometimes a little uncomfortable… make as many connections and do as many collabs as you can in the DMS.
