Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Coleman.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jeremy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started out with my Dad’s little entry-level Sony Camera back in 2017. I went downtown, took tons of pictures with my cousin & a close friend of mine, saw I had a natural eye for photography, so I decided to start a business doing it on the side! I started learning everything I could and even met some great people along the way, including Dsto Moore & a few friends of his Keiton Green & Deanna Smith when I first started. Jabril Najee & Darell Moye have also been an influence in my journey from the recent time I met them as well. Dsto gave me all the tools I needed to make myself a better photographer, and here I am now after lots of time, investments, & a strong will & determination to give it my all every single time I step behind the camera.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been. I’ve had some major setbacks like getting my very first camera stolen & losing my best friend to suicide during my journey. It has been a long hard road after multiple times of wondering if I was good enough if I had enough support if I was cut out to be a photographer, but through it all, I held my head high and pushed through no matter what it took.
Please tell us about Jeremy Coleman Photography.
Just about any photography is my specialty, honestly. There are some sides of it that I have not journeyed into, but for the most part, just about anything that is asked of me has been a pretty smooth task. I’m pretty proud of the fact that I’m still here and have created a great reputation for my business as being a great person to be on a shoot with no matter what type it is and trying to make it as fun as possible for every single client. Playing music during each shoot has definitely helped that too because it helps set the perfect vibe for people so they can be as comfortable as possible before we begin our sessions.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory would definitely be when I figured out I had the eye for what I do. It’s crazy because I started out playing around with an iPhone, and that was when I decided to pick up a camera, and the rest has been history since then.
