Conversations with the Inspiring Candace Armour

Today we’d like to introduce you to Candace Armour.

Candace, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born into an entrepreneurial family, and my first side-hustle started when I was in 5th grade. I crafted and sold bookmarks until my teacher shut down shop because I didn’t have an LLC. That didn’t stop my entrepreneurial spirit, so I started braiding hair in the 6th grade for fun, and it turned into a money-maker from 6th grade through my early 20s. I styled hair for years, and in 2012 I launched my first official business – a hair extensions company… all while finishing my bachelor’s degree & MBA.

Since launching my first business, I’ve launched many other brands and have learned so much from my education and experience. After leaving college, I worked in corporate America for three years in the digital marketing space, but I quit that in 2017 to pursue full-time entrepreneurship. I now run a full digital marketing agency helping brands connect with their audiences + profit online through digital channels. I do everything from Instagram Strategy & Management, Email Marketing, Creative Direction, Branding, to Facebook & Instagram Advertisement.

But that’s just one business… I’m a serial entrepreneur! My brand, Epic Fab Girl, started as a blog in 2016 and has now become a community + digital school where we connect women entrepreneurs and help them build their brands and grow their faith in God. In true serial entrepreneur fashion, I’m currently working on launching my next business venture!

Has it been a smooth road?
Entrepreneurship is NOT easy. The road has been smooth, at times, but there have been many roadblocks. Some of the biggest struggles I’ve come up against are lack of funding, bouncing back when you’re hit hard by unexpected happenings, imposter syndrome, and fear.

I have learned that I am enough, so I have to remind myself of that daily through positive affirmations and prayer over my life and business. Every time that I felt like I wanted to give up, I didn’t. The moments where I kept pushing always brought me to a new place that reminded me I was right on track. My advice is to never give up because you never know how close you are to a turning point that will change your life and business forever.

Epic Fab Girl – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Epic Fab Girl, is known for connecting Christian women entrepreneurs and equipping them with information to thrive in their careers and God-given purpose. We host women empowerment events, including our yearly conference in Chicago – Go-Getter Conference. We hosted our 2018 Go-Getter Experience in Atlanta! This event is a mixture of workshops, panel discussions, keynote sessions, prayer, worship, and networking… all aimed at helping women build profitable brands and fulfilling lives. This conference has featured CEOs and businesswomen including Monique Rodriguez of Mielle Organics, Marshawn Evans Daniels, Maya Elious, and Arian Simone, just to name a few.

At Epic Fab Girl, we also have a private community for women entrepreneurs – the Go-Getter Confidential Clique. This is a membership + digital school that features monthly prayer, weekly mindset sessions, business coaching, expert masterclasses, and a private group chat!

The thing that sets Epic Fab Girl apart is that we incorporate faith and business in a meaningful way for women who are serious about their businesses and relationships with God. My digital marketing agency, CaJun Marketing, specializes in Instagram Strategy & Management, Email Marketing, Branding, Influencer Marketing, and Facebook/Instagram Advertising. What sets CaJun Marketing apart is that we don’t just do social media management, rather, we incorporate email marketing and Facebook/Instagram advertising to ensure that your efforts online are strategic and profitable!

Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
I have been most inspired by the stories of so many women, including Taylar Barrington (Cliquish CEO). For Taylar, I’ve seen her build a brand from the ground up that truly serves the audience she reaches, and she never backs down. She has an eye for what works and now runs a thriving business, but does the hard work behind the scenes.

I’m also inspired by Marshawn Evans Daniels because of how incredibly talented she is and how she incorporates her faith into every aspect of her business.
