Today we’d like to introduce you to Fase.
Fase, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Where should I begin? I come from Brooklyn, East New York and have been a recording artist since I was a kid. It’s always been my dream to conquer the music business in every aspect. I share the story of a ghetto-child: gangs, violence, drugs and poverty. But my way out was the military, in the military I learned there was a bigger world than I ever thought. While music drove me, the whole time I wasn’t dedicated, I didn’t even think it would ever happen to this level honestly. But that goes to show you that dreams are real. I’ll never forget it. I was in Dubai, and I was in my room with a pen and pad, and I began to write out my career on a piece of paper. I even described my headquarters down to the services and the whole nine. I walked around with this paper in my uniform. See, I always understood the power of believing, and there have been many times I was in trouble with the law, and I put it into play. lol
But this time was different. I knew it was going to take sacrifice and a lot of money. You know, when you’re walking on the right path, money is no longer an issue. Things will align accordingly, and the funds will be there. Not long after, the Navy called me home to be discharged, and I had the option to stay in or go, but I told the commanding officer I was going to pursue my career in music. He was positive about it, and trust me. I have heard worse stories.
Now the day has come. I’m finally out of my military. I knew what I had to do because I studied 50 cent, Jayz, Master P and Rick Ross heavy. I believe if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. My strategy was to take a piece of all those people, and there goes the gem “FASE’. I got with my good friend Kryse, and we began to build a team, got a small office, and started to make a little noise on the local Virginia music scene. We both knew this wasn’t enough, and being we are both from Brooklyn, we knew the risk needed to be higher for us to reach the ultimate success.
I then packed up and took the sacrifice to move to Jonesboro, Ga. Knowing this is chess, not checkers, I studied the scene for at least a year before I made any move. I was big on helping the homeless, so I spent that time marketing my water, “Fase2x,” and clothing line, “Shafase.” I took time to be in the streets assisting the homeless however I could, whether it was clothing, food or shelter. But there goes music calling me again. I couldn’t totally answer yet so I sought out to start a business which was a Shafase clothing store. It was a spot for me to sell my clothing, water and authentic sneakers.
I must say I thought I was on to something but it was a terrible location and a total fail. I’m like done at this point. Mind you the whole time I’m making music and still was trying to master my sound. The reality is that I wasn’t as ready as I thought I was. I had the business mind, but I needed my music to catch up. My music needed more attention than ever I had to master the craft. I even asked myself, where do I begin? How do I go back to the drawing board? Keep in mind at this point. I had developed a strong musical following in the states and overseas. I even won and been nominated for multiple underground awards from New York to Atlanta. I eventually met up with a childhood friend and one of her homeboys. They convinced me to open up a studio. Although skeptical I was with it, I mean, I had an idea of the perfect studio and being we were all artists. It was the perfect plan. We can drop projects non- stop I was all the way in! I took it upon myself to find a building. I knew my concept would be undeniable, and we stood to make a lot of money.
But unfortunately, by month 3 of having the building, both partners pulled out for very invalid reasons. It balled down to the money and sacrifice, and they left me in total debt. But there was a joy in me, something inside was saying this is what you asked for, this is that piece of paper coming to life. My day 1’s then decided to step up and fill in the blanks. We began to plan and build a foundation for the studio that would be unbreakable and definitely duplicated.
That brings me to today after releasing three albums out of my studio and serving artists all over the world, and especially in Atlanta, I can truly be proud of my accomplishments. My sound is its own and something people enjoy. My project, Money Over Matter has over 1 million streams and I recently dropped a new project titled, Heart Strings. I’m very proud of this project. So watch out because I got a new pen & pad and I’m working on my next five years.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has been rough but worth it. I had to learn how to move to a new state and remain a success by staying true to myself.

My studio specializes in recording, mixing & mastering, and events. We are known for our impeccable customer service and timely turnaround on clients projects. I’m proud of our longevity. We grow better every day because we put the client first; it’s not just about the money. I believe those things set us apart. Our unsigned artists and celebrities get treated with the same respect.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see the industry rapidly growing there is a new studio opening every day but one thing for certain it is not what you do its how you do it.
