Thanks for sharing your story with us Tonya. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all started when I was in grade school. I created a Instagram not knowing it will one day inspire so many. It slowly began to grow day by day. After a few years in the making, I became a influencer for plus size women all over the world. Now I inspire and uplift body positivity as much as I can.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. It take time to gain your audience. Also, being plus size, not everyone is on board about it. It can be mean people in the world. I use to wake up to so many meaningful messages and comments. But, if I’m making one female feel good about her body and to know she should always feel good about herself, I did my part.
Please tell us about your work.
I post body positivity for all women to know and understand to love yourself. I’m a plus-size model showing size doesn’t matter. You are capable of being anything you want to be. Don’t let body shaming harm you. I’m proud of what I do. To be the voice of the plus-size community is setting a example that we are not going to be shut out anymore that what sets me apart. I don’t take no for an answer.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career was being selected by Fashion Nova to come to try out for their spring collection plus size edition.
