Today we’d like to introduce you to Marlon L. White.
Marlon, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It had always been a dream to promote parties, not just any party but a party with an adult vibe. In August of 2018, I, along with my partners, Jermaine Moore, Melody Johnson, Berinda Faye Turk and my wife Stacey, had our first Day Party: Cigars & Sundresses. My concept of having a day party was to have a great time mixing & mingling with like minded adults, networking, and getting home at a decent hour. Our parties are held every 3rd Saturday from 2 pm to 8 pm at the Brownstone ATL in Stockbridge, GA. We’ve had themed parties from St.Patrick’s Day, 90’s party, Halloween theme, All White party attire to All Black Attire.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There were a couple of speed bumps but nothing that threw us off track. There were a couple of Day Parties where the attendance was not like our normal crowd, but the following month the attendance was back to the normal 100 plus.
Please tell us about Echelon Events Inc.
Echelon Events Inc. is a “One Stop Shop” of event planning. I, along with Jermaine Moore DJ, host and take pictures. We have three hosts. We are known for having great Day Parties every 3rd Saturday from 2 pm to 8 pm. The thing I’m most proud of is the music, great, clean, adult vibe we offer. Nine times out of 10 it ends up being like a mini reunion because we bring people together that may have only interacted through social media yet when they arrive at our parties, they either catch up or build upon their existing friendship, I think the thing that sets us apart is our parties are always FREE, our attention to detail, our friendly nature, and making sure we speak to EACH & EVERYONE one guest that comes to our parties.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Ha! Saturday mornings were listening to music as we cleaned the house then going outside to play with the neighbors ALL DAY until the street light came on. Lol!
