Today we’d like to introduce you to Andres Lopez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Andres. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started doing videography in my second year of high school. I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed photography and videography until I was accidentally placed in a film course. I took the class for the next three years and received a certification in adobe premiere pro. from there. I had the idea of starting a business during a film conference I competed in my junior year. I figured that I could use my skills to make some money on the side. During my senior year of high school, I started doing quinceaneras and weddings for close friends and family. I did business under the name “Arcshot Studio” and grew out of it once I felt my work reached a more professional level. When I graduated, I picked up photography and watched as many YouTube videos as I could to quickly pick up the craft. I then started working with models and modeling school for photoshoots to expand my portfolio. During august of 2019, I rebranded to “Andres Lopez Films” and registered my business. From there, I’ve been focusing on creating a personal brand and serving an audience that perfectly fits my vision.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
When it comes to starting a business, there’s no such thing as a smooth road. As a creator and entrepreneur, its a very lonely path. Mental health is something that creators need to be very careful with. One of the biggest struggles has been balancing school and business. I’m still a college student and have had to make choices between academics and business. There have been times where I’ve skipped classes to travel for shoots. Likewise, the school has put a barrier on time I could have spent creating content. Being young as well has been an obstacle in its self. A lot of times, I’ve wanted to see progress and results “now”. Looking back at it, I realize that all my hard work has come back to me because of my patience.
Please tell us about your business.
Andres Lopez Films specializes in both Wedding video and photography. The business also revolves around portraiture. What I have been most proud of is the constant growth in the business. I always strive to improve the quality and consistency of my work. What sets the business apart from others is the consistency. It’s very rare to see other creators post on such a consistent and personal level. Besides weekly posts, I also have daily posts on my highlights. I try to showcase my life to my audience daily. I also love sharing tips with other creators. I am completely transparent with my audience as I show them what gear I use, what apps and tools I use to create my content. and what hacks I’ve used to reach the level I am at.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had the option to start over, I would have overemphasized communication with clients. When I first started, I knew nothing when it came to communication and customer support. I think now that it is important to overcommunicate to the end consumer and have full honesty. Every customer is a lifetime customer when you consider the word of mouth referrals and how online reviews can make or break a business.
