Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Dixon.
Jasmine, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started off making strawberries for my daughter’s Pre-K class. It was supposed to be just a one time thing since it was around Valentine’s Day and I wanted to do something nice for her teacher. After making a few, I started to do it more often. It was more of a hobby, a hobby that gave me peace! I didn’t expect the outcome that I have now because it was nothing more than just a hobby to me. 4 years later, here I am! The person that’s known as the one that makes the strawberries! I wouldn’t have made it this far if I didn’t have a support system that speaks life into me. I was pushed to become better.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not! I’ve struggled with managing my time, burning chocolate, not being able to fulfill orders, and just not being motivated. The main struggle that I’ve had overall is not being satisfied with the finished product. I take it to heart. I feel that if it is not good enough for me, then it is not good enough for anyone else.
Please tell us about your business.
Goodies By Jasmine provide treats. Chocolate covered strawberries, candy apples, pretzels, candied popcorn, Rice Krispie treats, and apple slices, etc. However, we’re most known for the chocolate covered strawberries! As a company, we’re most proud of the growth that has taken place in such a short period of time! I’m honestly not sure what sets me apart from others because I’m only focused on Goodies By Jasmine.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plan for the future is to have a food truck but with treats! I’m looking forward to working with more people and learning more techniques.
