Today we’d like to introduce you to Garrett (Versatile G) Hardy.
Garrett, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland. I’m a Talent manager/Entrepreneur with over a decade of industry experience. Also known as “Versatile G”, I got my feet wet at a young age pursuing acting, dancing and doing commercials for Forbes top 100 companies such as Children’s Hospital. My career in the entertainment/music industry started when I was as little as nine years old when I won a dance competition dancing like Michael Jackson in October 2008 and got to perform on stage with “Omarion”. I’ve learned so much since then, fast forward ten plus years and now I coordinate events with top worldwide brands and manage top tier talents. Over the years, I’ve increased my knowledge on the music and entertainment industry, I’ve used my industry smarts and clientele of celebrities and social media influencers to build myself into what I am today. I’ve helped a lot of people over the years with branding and marketing tactics to get them where they are today and I take great pride in that.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
At first in the beginning, I had a lot of doubters, people I grew up with would always make fun of me or try to talk down on my accomplishments. So many people not really knowing me or the origin of how I was brought up in the industry always had something negative to say. Everything I’ve done over the years nobodies helped with and its been all me no team behind me so seeing how far I’ve come over the years is honestly amazing. I’m learning more and more everyday. A lot of situations were trail and error but if you never fail at something you’ll never find out what it takes to be able to one day succeed!
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m a talent manager and A&R. I’ve helped a lot of artist and influencers get to the next step in there careers over the years. I help artist and influencers with development and branding. I have many partnerships and connections. I’m always searching for new material and new people to help them build their brands and fanbases one step at a time. I manage and work with Social media influencers, Celebrity Artist, YouTube Stars and Tiktok Influencers. I specialize in helping people with marketing strategies and engagement tactics that increase their overall market value and expand their brand’s overtime using social media marketing, digital marketing, PR, etc… which later lead to brand deals and sponsorships from companies all over the world. I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve done all of this by myself no help or team behind me, the thing that sets me apart from others is that I actually want to help people get to the next step in there careers because we all come from a place of not knowing and wanting to find answers. I help people everyday find those answers that their looking for and I want to help them as much as I can.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I’m grateful for the many lessons I’ve learned over the years because if I didn’t go through those things, I wouldn’t be the man I am today. Looking back on how I got to where I am today, I failed a lot, but if I never failed as much as I did, I wouldn’t have ever known what it takes to chase my dreams and be successful. Connecting and networking with people over the years I’d say its my number one trait about me. Being able to network, meet industry moguls and executives it’s hard for a lot of people, but for me it’s easy. It took years to find out an algorithm that effectively works for me.
