Meet Keisa Campbell of Beautiful Living

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keisa Campbell.

Keisa, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
At the age of 14, I gave birth to a beautiful daughter. It was one of the scariest times in my life. I was just a child myself having a child, let alone being called mom. I didn’t know what to expect, the only thing that I knew for sure was that I couldn’t become a teen mom statistic and not finish school and not be there for my daughter. Finishing high school was very important to me and finishing with my class was even more important. I graduated with my class and with the HOPE scholarship and went on to college.

At the age of 21, I was married with two children and by 27, I was a mother of 3. Being a wife and a mother posed some challenges while trying to complete my goals of completing college. I have never been one to give up on anything easy so I couldn’t allow the challenges of being a wife and mother to stop me, I just went about it a different way. I earned my cosmetology diploma, Associate and Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration graduating top of my class Summa Cum Laude.

I always knew that my purpose was to help others but didn’t know fully in which way. At a point in my life, I was working a full-time job, doing hair part-time in a salon, mentored at-risk juvenile kids, ran an MLM team that I had to be present for, dance mom, wife, and mother all at the same time. Although these things were “helping” others, I still felt a void. In January 2014, I prayed about this void and God laid life coaching on my heart.

On November 2, 2014, I started the IAM Movement. I wanted to help women remember who they were before the “titles.” I wanted them to know that they were more than wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends…that they too have dreams and goals that needed nurturing. I wanted them to reach down in the core of who they were, reset, and set forth to pursue their dreams and goals a day at a time. In 2015, I became a Certified Professional Life Coach and later on Certified MBTI Practitioner and I helped women with purpose, goal-setting, self-care, and how to show up for what they were called to do. From that, the Beauty Coach was born. I had been coaching since the age of 8 and I realized helping others through coaching made my heartthrob.

I was struggling with being called “The Beauty Coach” because people would always associate it with outer beauty rather than the beauty of the whole person and although I still go by that (loosely) today, it was “Beautiful Living” that I wanted for not only myself but for others as well. In 2017, I introduced “Beautiful Living.” “Beautiful Living” is about being whole in every area of your life. Shortly after I started teaching “Beautiful Living,” my marriage took a turn. I separated from my husband. It was the most devastating thing that I have ever experienced in my life. Nothing about that was “Beautiful Living.” What was I to do? I had never lived on my own before and again I found myself not knowing what to expect. My marriage ended in 2019. What happens when “Beautiful Living” doesn’t look so beautiful? I simply had to redefine what “Beautiful Living” meant to me on the other side of marriage.

On the day that my divorce was final, I received a call about participating in a pageant. I had never participated in a pageant before and was in awe that I was even considered. I had just read the book “A Year of Yes”, and decided to say yes to me. I was later crowned Ms. Georgia Black America 2019. That was the first step to “Beautiful Living” after divorce.

I had to redefine “Beautiful Living” in every area of my life and the seven pillars of “Beautiful Living” were born. “Beautiful Living” will look different for everyone but for everyone, it’s thriving in every area of your life.

So, let me reintroduce myself…Hi, I’m Keisa, Certified Professional Life Coach, Speaker, Author, Mentor, Retired Master Hairstylist, Image Consultant, Mother of 3, and Ms. Georgia Black America 2019. Today, not only do I strive to walk the walk of “Beautiful Living” but I also help women do the same. No matter what it is that you are going through there is beautiful living on the other side.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road for me because working a full-time job and building a business simultaneously requires a lot of time. Balancing the two through the years has not been easy.

There were many times I had to leave my job, run home and take care of my family and then prepare to coach a client later that evening. Keeping this pace was stressful at times, but I knew my ultimate goal was to help people identify their purpose and live beautifully and that energized me to press forward.

While I am thankful to have a successful career on my job and as a Life and Beauty Coach, I know my purpose is to take “Beautiful Living” and the Seven Pillars to the next level in an effort to change the lives of women around the world.

Beautiful Living – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
“Beautiful Living” and the Seven Pillars is a complete lifestyle that includes: Spiritual Beauty, Mental Beauty, Physical Beauty, Relational Beauty, Financial Beauty, Social Beauty, and Outward Beauty.

The company is comprised of coaching, speaking, and creating meaningful experiences through seminars, workshops, conferences, and retreats.

I was initially known for the “IAM Movement” and saw a bigger picture and “Beautiful Living” was born. “Beautiful Living” and the Seven Pillars is what I am known for by my friends, colleagues, clients and around the Atlanta community. What sets me apart is that I strive every day to live what I am speaking about. Additionally, the experiences that I create with my clients are tailored made just for them. It’s always fresh and unique sprinkled with a sparkle of “WOW” and I believe that sets me apart from others.

I empower women to be whole in every area of their life because when people are whole, it shines through in all that they do. I believe transformation starts in the mind and to live beautifully means to transform disempowering circumstances into positive life experiences. I co-create with my clients the life they are seeking in every area of their lives. For a select period of time, I become my client’s co-pilot and help them to identify what “Beautiful Living” means to them. I believe in life by design and work with my clients to achieve goals, get unstuck, overcome obstacles, gain clarity on their life’s vision, self-discover and make changes or shifts in their lives to remain balanced and show up with brilliance. I am part visionary, part advisor and my client’s biggest cheerleader. After working with me, my clients no longer feel lost without a compass and are less stressed and overwhelmed with their action plan for life. One of my greatest joys is to see my clients excited about their futures!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
One of my proudest moments has been seeing “Beautiful Living” come alive and seeing its impact on the lives of others. A relative reached out to me and shared that I coached one of their friends and the friend, in turn, told my relative how the coaching experience changed her life. Family members are sometimes the last people to support you so to hear this feedback made my heart smile.

Fate would have it, for this client and I to connect again at a wedding. We exchanged pleasantries and began to catch up. During the conversation, she shared how our coaching session was a life-changing experience for her. It was at this moment, I remembered the conversation I had with my relative about this person. It was very humbling and confirmation that I am making a difference. These kinds of moments really touch my heart and I always thank God for allowing me to be a vessel.
