Meet Destiny Miller of The Glam Collection in Douglasville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Miller.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Destiny. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The Glam Collection Co. started with me and my best friend Alexus in 2018. We were brainstorming business ideas one day and what we could do next. Hair is something that has always been a big influence in the African-American culture whether it’s your natural hair or hair extensions. The Glam Collection Co. was created to provide great quality hair extensions because “Every Girl Deserves a little Glam in her life”. The Glam Collection Co. is still growing and evolving and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for our brand!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
“The depth of your struggle will determine the height of your success.” It has not been a smooth road. Being a full-time mom, entrepreneur and working a full-time job, I am still learning to balance everything. The first year was tough because we had 0 sales and were trying to figure out what we could do differently. Although the first year was a little discouraging, I couldn’t give up. Being an entrepreneur, you have to learn that everything isn’t going to be easy and you will face many obstacles. Now the focus is on revamping the brand as well as focusing on marketing.

Please tell us about The Glam Collection.
The Glam Collection Co. was created to provide great quality hair extensions because “Every Girl Deserves a little Glam in her life”. I love that with hair extensions you can always switch it up. One day you can have short hair and then the next day you can have long hair. With our upcoming revamp, the concept is beyond providing bundles but to eventually create a space for young girls and women to enjoy a Glam Experience! As a company, I am most proud of the inspiration that we gave other young women to start their business.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over the only thing I would do differently is have a better marketing strategy. With any product, you have to be able to stand out from your competitors. A great marketing strategy will help the growth of your business and attract more people to your brand. But I am thankful for the obstacles and lessons because it has helped me learn what I can do better for the brand.
