Today we’d like to introduce you to Tikirah Rayford.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Tikirah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always been into the beauty field. When I was about 14, I started to do my own hair and color my own hair extensions. In January 2017, I attended Columbus Technical College and graduated in January 2019 as a Licensed Master Cosmetologist. I started my eyelash business September 2017 and my hair business in July 2018.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was a rocky road at first because I had to build my clientele, but as I stayed consistent with my clients, my clientele increased tremendously.
Please tell us about The Tiki Bar.
My business is called The Tiki Bar. I’m a Pro lash artist, I specialize in wig making, installations, hair coloring, and nails. I’m mostly known for doing eyelash extension, selling wigs, and coloring them mainly on myself. I’m proud of how far I’ve become because I’m an entrepreneur who has the ability to put my craft into more than one thing, which makes my business stand out.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would’ve had a little more saved up. But other than that, I started off okay.
