Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Angelica, founder of Georgia’s 1st all CBD/Hemp spa.
Brittany, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
CannaBSPA was an idea just six months ago. I’ve dealt with serve anxiety since 2016 and was prescribed with medication the following year. In 2017 I started going to beauty school as an Esthetician and during this time CBD/Hemp was brought to my attention. I didn’t like how the meds made me feel and heard CBD was a more natural option. When I tried CBD oil, it helped tremendously and gave me better relief. A year after finishing school and doing more research on CBD, I was amazed to see the wonders it could do on your skin as well.
I started creating CBD skincare in my kitchen because there weren’t a lot of CBD skincare on the market. I knew I wanted to eventually open my own spa and have some CBD products. While doing more research with cannabis and skincare, I noticed that there were a lot of questions about what it can do on your skin. For most of 2018, my skincare routine was infused with CBD/Hemp only and was amazed by my results in just three months. I’ve always been satisfied with how it reduced my anxiety but was extremely happy at how it reduced my dark spots, acne and more. That’s when I came up with the idea of CannaBSpa after I finished beauty school. An all CBD/Hemp infused skincare treatment spa..& the 1st in Georgia. I created my own name, branding, logo and more as I kept this idea on the low until I announced it in February 2020.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With me having this idea just a few months before opening, it definitely wasn’t a smooth one. I was determined to build this brand before Feb 2020. An idea that was brought to me in just Oct 2019. There were a lot of this that had to be put in place at a short amount of time. A business that hasn’t been on the market long but more people/businesses were trying to understand cannabis and skincare. Not only did I want people to experience a more relaxing spa-like mine but also a place to educate my customers around CBD/Hemp. Up until my announcement, I made sure I did my research, build my relationships with local stores, reach out to top CBD/Hemp brands and more. I plan to create my own CBD products as well.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about CannaBSpa – what should we know?
CannaBSpa is an infused CBD/Hemp skincare treatment spa. As a licensed esthetician and CBD advocate my services include facials, massages, special treatments & more. While some spas have CBD oil massages or add-ons, my spa is different from those because it’s ALL CBD/Hemp infused. CBD/Hemp is known to reduce skin disorders like eczema, psoriasis & more while calming and brightening your skin. It’s great for all skin types. CannaBSpa is the first of its kind in the state of Georgia and will also become a shop to sell other CBD/Hemp products. CannaBSpa will soon introduce its own skincare line.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
This spa is something new on the market when it comes to services. CBD/Hemp is legal in all 50 states & continues to grow which is also projected to be a two billion dollar industry by 2023. Cannabis is becoming a big deal in the beauty industry and I want CannaBSpa to become the go-to to finding answers. While coming up with this business plan and making it happen in a short amount of time, I think my biggest success comes from believing in my own vision and wanting to educate other estheticians as well on cannabis as it involves into the beauty industry. I created a brand that will give customers a more natural alternative option when it comes to treatments or just needing a place to relax. My goal is to educate more people about CBD/Hemp in Georgia and eventually expand to other states with my spa/classes.
