DaNee’, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In college, my love for fitness grew exponentially. However, it was my last semester of college and way too late for me to change my degree. Instead, I entered the workforce full time working in as a supervisor in a rec center. As the days went on, I felt myself living a double life. Hating what I did for a 9-5 and loving what I did from 5-9. After working hours, I worked as a personal trainer. I loved it. It spoke to me being a certified personal trainer meant so much to me. With the acquired knowledge through additional certifications, I could see myself making a difference in each client’s life. For me, this was the true meaning of life being able to be a positive resource to give back to others. God blessed me with a gift and I needed to use it.
After two years of “living a double life,” I made a change. I became a Personal Training Supervisor. I loved it. Within my 2nd full month of being in the role, the revenue hit numbers that had not been seen before. After working with my clients, I realized that I could better serve them by gaining my ISSA Nutrition Coaching certification, which would also allow for an additional revenue stream for the company. However, while gaining my certification, they took away this program. I was annoyed. I was frustrated. I paid for the certification out of my own pocket and wanted to use it. I pleaded for them to bring it back. It did not happen. Goodbye, it went. That annoyance fueled me. It empowered me and to be completely honest, I wanted to prove a point.
Diva Doll Coaching was born. It took off. The feeling of having my own felt amazing! I was my own boss and I could call all the shots. I was able to do what I love and be an even powerful resource for current and future clients. No longer was I just a certified personal trainer and TRX instructor I became so much more.
Today, I work diligently, growing my brand and my business. My goal, like every other entrepreneur, is to do this full time. Nutrition Coaching is where I have excelled even more than just that as a personal trainer. My goal is to reach as many people as possible with my online coaching. Clients train with virtually as a group, which builds camaraderie. We also have a private group chat, plus each client has separate messaging portal where I can connect with them in real-time. Everything I implement is to give the client a better experience overall. In the future, I would love to have a Mastermind group to help others build their fitness brand the same way I have with my own by creating Ebooks as a separate revenue stream. Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth, heck no. However, I am glad it wasn’t smooth. The bumpy ride taught me a lot more than it would have if it had been easy. The biggest struggle I had was learning how to launch new products and get sales. I had to learn a marketing strategy. I had to “learn” how to post. My Instagram went from just being something to have to being a major selling point to get additional clients in the door. This is something I would love to teach about in a Mastermind group. By navigating the waves of the Social Media world, I was even able to land a paying gig to simply share my story!
The struggles taught me many lessons and I am now reaping the benefits. Growing my contact list was also a struggle and getting leads to my website was a hassle. With going through the struggle, I was able to create a way to get folks in the door. Freebie’s were a big hit and led to future sales. Cha-Ching! Now I am also able to make money in my sleep by having automatic downloads.
Plus, I had to realize that it was okay to give away good information. Here’s a tip: Provide useful content, give away some free knowledge, it shows you are serious and that you are the real deal. The clients you want…. your preferred clients.. you know the ones who will automatically pay what you are asking, will pay your price. No more having to cut down your prices to get a person who won’t follow your guidance. Everyday I provide useful information and plant seeds. You have to.

Diva Doll Coaching specializes in online nutrition coaching and personal training programs. I specialize in helping women learn how to eat better, feel better, and live the life they have dreamed of having. I breathe life into these women and help them see that they can do anything they want. I focus on the nutritional aspect because we truly are what we eat. Everything begins with how you fuel your body. If you are not giving your body what it needs to be efficient so everything in your life will also run better. Low energy? Eat better. Want a better? Eat better. Want to fit in that dress. Eat better. The thing is people really do not know what to eat. They know how to lift weights. However, they haven’t seen any results. That is where I come in and provide the real assistance they need. Diet really is 80% while working out is only 20%.
As a company, I am most proud o being able to have a consistent additional revenue stream. My name is finally getting out there and as a one-woman show, I am making some noise. Client’s becoming successful and seeing results will always make me proud. They not only believe in me but they also put in the hard work!
What sets me apart? I am not the kind of coach that will tell you want you want to hear, I will tell you what you NEED to hear. I won’t make excuses for you I will blatantly tell you that you aren’t following the plan and that if your goal is ________ you would be sticking to it. The world IMO has grown too soft and to reach goals you have to be straight up with people.
Don’t like honesty, then I’m simply not the coach for you. Plain and Simple. To me, I feel like a lot of coaches are in it for the money and will play a nice game just to keep the money stream coming. I’m the opposite. You pay me to help you reach your goals so I have to be honest and call you out when it’s needed. Like the girl, I saw you on your IG story in the club throwing back an entire bottle of Ciroc and eating fried chicken at midnight… that’s why you look how you do. What happened to water and baked chicken?
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Honesty. If I am not comfortable coaching a particular person or my expertise is not for them, I don’t take them on as a client. I’m not in it for the money and if I can tell that this person fits for my program, I let them know and I refer them to someone who is better suited for them.
The clients I do have gain success because they are fit for my program and style of coaching. They are each clients that I know I can help and will be able to reap the benefits of working with me. If I do not think I am the best-fit working for you, then there is no point in just taking you on as a client. This screening process and “interviewing” interested clients has attributed greatly to my success. Each client speaks highly of me because I do what I said I would do. There is no confusion.
I also don’t take on so many clients to the point where my services are watered down. I refuse to downgrade what I have built just to have more money from having clients. The additional revenue stream comes from my E-products not from taking on so many clients I am dropping the ball on them. This is why it is important as a brand to offer additional items that can easily be purchased on my website.
