Meet Toi Foster of Toi’s Tidy Cleaning Service

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Toi Foster.

Toi, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 2018, I started my cleaning business from the suggestion and startup funds of a good friend and it was named it “Toi’s Tidy Cleaning Service.” From a youngster I remember being meticulously tidy. My passion for cleaning followed me to college. My dorm room was always clean. I also recall always being part of the cleanup crew at family functions. Some people may view cleaning up as tedious but for me, it is therapeutic. When I get a cleaning job, I see it as a challenge. How I can I clean to leave the place 100% better than it was? When I clean, I “leave no stone unturned.” To be able to complete a cleaning task gives me a great sense of accomplishment, knowing that my customers will be satisfied to come home to a house that smells and feels clean. My mission is to be so conscientious in my cleaning that I would have no dissatisfied customers. To get feedback from customers who express gratitude for something as simple as coming home to a clean house gives me unspeakable fulfillment.

Has it been a smooth road?
So far, it has been a smooth road until the advent of COVID-19. The pandemic has definitely halted my ability to provide cleaning services to my valuable customers. Sheltering-in-place and social distancing have impacted my business like all the other businesses. However, I am cautiously optimistic about the outcome of this pandemic and hope to resume business as usual in the foreseeable future.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Toi’s Tidy Cleaning Service – what should we know?
I have a cleaning business called Toi’s Tidy Cleaning Service and I provide cleaning services to residential and commercial businesses as well as Air BnB properties. I specialize in affordable, thorough and efficient services to customers who are in need of a fresh living and working space.

Because of my tenacity, I have accomplished much thus far. Initially, there were some uncertainties but support and encouragement from family and friends helped me to persevere. I consider myself to be an ambitious, diligent and trustworthy person with excellent people skills. These qualities in my mind have set me apart.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Atlanta is my home and I love everything about it. My family has lived in Atlanta since 1986 and I’ve seen it evolve so much. It has become a melting pot and the mecca of Black culture in this country. The people are diverse. There is an entrepreneurial spirit and the titan of many industries and black businesses.

I think everyone would agree with the least thing I like about Atlanta, which is the ever-growing traffic. I’m from College Park and there was a time. It would take me less than five minutes to get to I-285. Now it takes at least 15 minutes to get on the interstate. The least thing I like about Atlanta is the increasing traffic congestion. I live in College Park and to get to any of the interstates has become horrendous.
