Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Springer.
Christopher, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In life, the things that we love most are usually the things that we take a liking for unexpectedly. This was definitely the case for photography. If you asked me a couple years ago, if I could ever see myself being a photographer, the answer would’ve been no. Now look at me, I am approaching my two year anniversary of being a photographer, I have never had a passion for something like this before. This however, doesn’t mean that everything up to now has been easy. The journey that I had to take to get to where I am currently as a photographer was a very long and tough one. I struggled with finding myself in terms of my style and also struggled with doubting my work and feeling that I was producing content to the best of my ability. I had to take a very big step out of my shell and look at things in a different aspect and try out new things and experimenting. Doing this helped me develop as a photographer and got me to the point that I am currently at.
Has it been a smooth road?
It certainly has not been a smooth road. My biggest struggle has been fighting my own “inner demon.” This “inner demon” that I am referring to is doubt. I tend to always doubt myself and not give myself enough credit for the work that I create. It was really bad at the beginning of this journey to the point where I wasn’t shooting at all for like 2-3 months. However, the summer of 2019 is where I came to the realization that a vision that was different and unique. I liked my pictures to look a certain way and I started to realize that more and more as I kept shooting. That summer was the summer where the hindering doubt was completely vanquished from my mind. I realized that I had a serious passion for photography and I wanted to keep on learning the ins and outs while becoming the best version of CSHOOTS that I could possibly be.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
As of right now, I specialize in any photography needs no matter the occasion. I cover events, I do headshots, I do media coverage, I am just the guy that can handle the job that you need done with a camera. I am currently most proud of all that I have done so far as a photographer. I have only been a photographer for about two years but my growth and the things that I have taught myself and learned from others is just amazing to me. I pride myself in just having a different outlook on things from others. I like my work to look a certain way and give off a certain vibe. I pride myself on being the only person that can provide that vibe with the photos that I take. I am also starting to accept bookings for videos as well.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I do think that Atlanta is a good place for a business like mine. Atlanta is the place of opportunity. Even though nothing is easy, people in Atlanta want to see each other win and make it to the top. It is one of the best places, in my opinion, to start from nothing. You can build your clientele up from scratch and form relationships with people who just want to work with you for the benefit of both parties.
