Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Richardson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all started with my infactuation of grills. My wife bought my first grill as a birthday gift and I always wanted to cook for her. Each time I realized that I was anxious for a response, ”does she like it? Is it seasoned just right? How did the overall experience make her feel?” She’s my biggest critic so there was no way I was going to leave her as an unsatisfied customer! From there, I made it my job to perfect my craft as a true grill master! For months I’d be on the grill from sun up to sundown. I’d get a little buzz from the neighbors from time to time. It felt good. So one day, I asked my wife an honest question “do you think one day I could sell my food?” She simply replied, “absolutely, I’d buy it!”
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
When Monee’-Rich began as a company, my wife had just had our first baby! So not only was I a new dad, I was a new dad with a new business! Not only did I have two new ”babies” I also still worked my 9-5 40 hr a week job. There were many things that having a “business” required like a business plan that actually made sense, licensing, and knowing how to use social media as a means for advertising.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Monee’-Rich is a bbq catering company. We specialize in grilled meats, veggies and sides. We’re known for our outstanding, two-time award-winning chicken…The thing that sets Monee’-Rich aside from others is the overall experience. Not only does the food speak for itself but the experience within whichever package you chose from speaks volumes as well! Monee’-Rich is a self-started from the ground up company that believes in motivating the drive of others in believing in themselves and perfecting their own crafts.
What were you like growing up?
As a kid, I always enjoyed cooking and coming up with tasty new creations, some good and some not so good. As a young man, I would go to my uncle’s house for the weekend and help him out with yard work or occasionally assisting him with local cooking events in the community. So if you had to guess, yes! He, too is a grill master. Once he noticed I was intrigued with his work and ability to reach people through food he took me under his wing. He would sometimes let me help out or sometimes if his schedule was hectic, he’d let me take full control giving me much-needed experience! He has provided me with all the necessary tools and advice in becoming a true grill master.
