Today we’d like to introduce you to Tosin Fashina.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Tosin. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born in Hyattsville, Maryland, raised in Georgia, where I have resided the last 23 years. My journey in Photography started back in 2016, where I had a passion for starting a business that would allow me to be hands-on. My initial plan was to start a clothing line, however, while I was waiting for everything to come together, I started to take pictures with the camera I purchased. While taking pictures of friends and family, I realized that I had a natural eye for photography. This led me to have confidence and allowed me to accept my very first gig taking pictures for a major concert. After doing photography for that concert, the artists were so impressed that they all started referring me and started receiving multiple bookings. Later that year, I landed my first engagement photo shoot in Puerto Rico that ended up being internationally published on multiple well-known blogs. From there, my business took off. I started working with celebrities, models, major events, weddings, radio and reality shows. I have also had the opportunity to have my work published in magazines, billboards and more.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Some of the struggles I faced in this journey were due to overbooking and editing. Taking on more than I can handle would create problems for me and learning how to edit that would not only satisfy me but satisfy my clients as well. I also learned that in this industry, as well as any other if you want to excel, you cannot do everything on your own. For certain shoots, I found myself hiring a team to assist me.

My business specializes in the creative art of photography. We provide public and private services to all clients. Our services include professional, corporate and model headshots, portraits, maternity shoots, weddings, events and many more. I am most proud of how far I have come in a short amount of time I have been doing photography. What sets me apart from others is my attention to detail, my patience and my willingness to understand the client’s vision.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would’ve spent more time in the beginning stages learning each aspect of lighting and also gaining more knowledge on the different types of equipment to use in order to perfect my craft.
