Meet Deberah Williams of A Fresh Start in Fairburn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deberah Williams.

Deberah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 2005, I was working for a Mortgage Company as an Operations Manager, which I was responsible for assisting clients with their credit to make sure they qualify for a home loan. The clients that were coming into the office had credit scores a low as 500 and the brokers promised them a loan. According to the qualifications, I notice that they did not meet the qualifications, but the Branch Manager informed the clients that they did. To make a long story short, I had to inform the clients that they did not qualify and explain to them the reasons why.

Later on Feb 7, 2006, I was terminated from the company because I was too honest, and I was too corporate was the words that was told to me when I was being escorted out the door. I was obtaining my dual Master’s Degree at that time, and I was speaking to a UOP Rep. on the phone about my account and he could tell that I was depressed about something. The Rep. asked me why I was depressed and I told him that I was terminated for being honest to clients. The Rep. asked me what did I like about the job and I told him, helping people reach their dreams and accomplishments. The Rep. asked me how did I do that, and I told him I was a Loan Officier and I assist clients with building their credit. Needless to say, A Fresh Start, LLC, was born. Now, I work globally with people all over the world.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My challenges are clients that want the services but sometimes do not have the funds to pay for the services. People know their needs but some are unable to pay or unwilling to pay for the services. My services is very inexpensive. I was really going to give up until my Mentor educated me about business and my worth. He stated to me that “if people cannot pay for your service, then they cannot afford the restoration process.” He also mentions that I should never discredit the worth and value of my service. After that, I started networking with friends, associates, organizations, and never look back. I love what I do. I wish more people would educate themselves about the power of CREDIT.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about A Fresh Start – what should we know?
A Fresh Start, LLC – a credit coach for clients that are having credit challenges. The company was established in 2006 because there was a great need for educating families about credit and budgeting. We are passionate about educating and teaching clients that knowledge is power. We work on derogatory payment history, and also with clients who have been turned down for a loan/refinance, rebuilding credit scores, judgments on credit history, and creating a budget for their financial needs. I am known to clients as a COACH, NEGOTIATOR, REALISTIC, TEACHER, and their FRIEND at the end of the program.

I am most proud of is the success stories, such as they do not leave the way that they come in after the consultation. I am proud to see them purchase the home that they wanted, proud to see them pay off their bills and create a budget, proud to see their credit scores rise, and mostly proud that they discover that they do not have to stay at the position that they end. What sets AFSLLC apart from the other companies, no monthly fee, no hidden agenda, coaching them during the process, and after. We do not leave them to fail.
