Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonia Lawrence.
Antonia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
God has given me several very significant and powerful roles that I take very seriously. My goal in every role is to make an eternal impact on people’s lives, to bring a greater awareness of the presence of God and how important it is to have that relationship with Him. I am a mother of six amazing children, I am a grandmother I am a sister, a friend; a worship leader, teacher and mentor. I have a very international and diverse background that has definitely shaped who I am.
I was born in Manchester, England and raised in Toronto, Canada, and my family is Jamaican. I have over 25 years’ experience as singer, speaker and worship leader, using the power of my voice in multiple capacities to share the good news of God’s love and grace. I have performed and spoken at many churches and venues, and has been internationally recognized by organizations including the Gospel Choice Awards and People You Need to Know Magazine.
Growing up, I learned to appreciate diversity and cross-cultural sounds. I listened to all styles of music ranging from jazz, reggae, and classic pop, to silky and slow R&B sounds. I combine these diverse musical influences with my own unique life experiences and insights to bring a powerful message to uplift and encourage others.
I have recorded six projects over the years and have brought my live performance across the nation and the world, singing, and speaking at a diverse array of events including church services, women’s gatherings, conferences, and more. She has also brought her God-given gifts to organizations such as the Children’s Miracle Network, Hosea Williams Feed the Hungry organization.
My God-given mission to encourage and inspire others through the power of music and sharing my life through the gifts God has given me. I am releasing a brand new single July 4th, 2020 through Fresh Rain Music.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. Life is filled with challenges and lessons along the way. It is what makes us stronger and allows us to depend on the Lord in a greater way. I have many stories of God’s faithfulness, his healing power; and His provision. One of my greatest challenges was going through a divorce. It was a very dark time in my life where I experienced all kinds of emotions of being torn apart in so many ways. But I discovered the character of God in a way I’ve never known before. I realize that when you speak from personal experience about what you know about God … your story comes alive, powerful and more meaningful. It also gives you a greater compassion for others. When this trial was over, I saw God work everything together for my good and He made me a better person. For this I am grateful.
Please tell us about the company.
The name of my company is Fresh Rain Music. the purpose is to provide life changing music and training services for churches and events. I have over 25 years of experience as a worship leader. My heart to empower the next generation of worship leaders with her knowledge that will give them a strong foundation of spiritual and practical principles to propel the music ministry to another level. I offer coaching services for worship leaders; consulting for churches for worship departments; weekend or one day workshop training to empower worship teams for next level skill and anointing. I am also available to lead worship or provide special music for your church or special event.
My goal is to help bring a quality worship experience to the local churches in the area of praise and worship through offering workshops, coaching and consulting services that will help train, encourage and build up worship teams. My company is building an online community of worshippers and worship leaders called Worship Conversations Facebook / Podcast, to create a platform for new and seasoned worship leaders and team members to have meaningful conversations; to ask questions, share experience, wisdom and knowledge regarding personal and corporate worship leadership.
I am releasing a brand new single called “Heart Smile”. The song celebrates “life-giving” relationships–people who bless your life; have been there for you when you needed it most and those that you just enjoy being around. It expresses gratitude for the gift of sharing love. It will be released on July 4th on all platforms. 
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory is my track and field days in high school… I was an excellent runner. When I think back on my time in the starting block getting ready for the 60- or 100-meter run. I remember the nerves and confidence I felt at the moment. I enjoyed the feeling of winning.
