WOW! announced its acquisition of NuLink systems in Newnan, Georgia on September 12th, 2016. NuLink is a local provider of high-speed Internet, digital cable TV and phone services to residential and business customers located 34 miles southwest of Atlanta. The acquisition extended WOW!’s service to more than 34,000 homes and businesses in the Newnan area.
WOW! was familiar with the NuLink operation in Newnan as it had supported some of their telephony growth through another acquired company (Knology). Some of WOW!’s employees in Georgia had worked in the NuLink system in Newnan in previous years. WOW! currently has operations in other, I-85 & I-185 corridor communities such as West Point and Columbus, GA, Lanett, Auburn and Montgomery, AL.
Has it been a smooth road?
WOW! has had to upgrade (and continues to do so) much of the NuLink network as we integrate it into our existing architecture. While this will provide for a more reliable and robust customer experience going forward, the process of changing over is always challenging. This covers the range of providing the necessary training to our employees all the way to keeping the disruption to our customers at a minimum during this process.
