Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherri Horton.
Sherri, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up admiring architects and builders. My father was a craftsman and could build a house from the ground up. My college years led me to another field and I received a Master’s degree in an unrelated subject but my passion drove me back to construction. I started a concrete construction business and have been living my dream ever since.
Has it been a smooth road?
Working in a male dominated industry has its challenges. I started my construction company and people immediately questioned what role I played in the business. I was mislabeled as a secretary or assistant on many occasions. My knowledge of the industry proved to many people that I was deserving of my role as owner and thus I began to gain trust among many in the field. My customers are glad that they can talk to someone who is able to walk them through their projects and explain things along the way.

Georgia Concrete specializes in concrete flat-work to include driveways, patios, sidewalks/walkways, pads, etc. We install new, repair, or replace. We work with concrete material suppliers to provide the best products on the market.

Atlanta is the best place to do business. There are many opportunities available and the possibilities of growth are enormous. I would definitely recommend Atlanta as the place to start a business.
