Bianca, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Hi! My name is Bianca Holmes and I’m the owner of Code B Collection. I’ve taken an interest in beauty and hair products, but I decided on a different route for a career. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Business Administration. I’ve always been a go-getter or a hustler, as many would say. First, I began by selling some of my own personal items on eBay. Clothes, shoes, accessories and anything else I no longer wanted helped me bring in cash. In addition to my full-time job, I’ve always had a side hustle or two, such as styling hair and wigs, babysitting or delivering for Shipt and DoorDash. Then in 2019, I realized that I wanted to earn passive income. So I started a business, Code B Collection.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Due to stress, I took a four-month break from my business. No worries, I came back harder and gained a lot of sales! That has been my motivation. I’m a driven individual and try to always focus on the positive.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Code B Collection – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
When I started Code B Collection, I sold lashes only. Women love wearing lashes! So I provide long, dramatic lashes that can be used multiple times. I then expanded to other beauty items such as lip gloss, hair accessories and Body Glow, a body oil I make. I’m always looking to expand my business by adding new products. I add and test out products every now and then to see what my customers like and don’t like. What I’m most proud of it that I’m actually running a business and making sales! Like people are really buying my products! I feel that what sets me apart is that I’m relatable and confident. Without confidence, no one will take you seriously.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan on expanding Code B Collection and adding more products and services. I look forward to expanding my brand.
