Today we’d like to introduce you to Crissy Mac.
Crissy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was diagnosed with Lupus five years ago. At the time I was diagnosed I was selling cars for Toyota. I had graduated from college and my life was amazing. My husband and I built our dream home in SW Florida on the water with one child at the time. Things were looking up until my doctor told me I had lupus and the sun was killing me and I need to stop selling cars. I had no clue what my next steps was going to be. I had faith so I quit my job and we sold our home and moved to Atlanta to go further in our real estate business we had started years prior.
A month after I moved, I got pregnant. I was told it wasn’t safe to have children with Lupus but I wasn’t going to get rid of him. I had eight doctors to get me through that pregnancy. My son was born healthy and strong. My pregnancy plus battling Lupus took my kidneys down which lead me to dialysis until my brother was kind enough to give me his kidney so I can live to see my kids.
My kidney transplant was a success and I’m healthier and stronger than I was. Dialysis was miserable and it put so much stress one my life. Now that I’m healthy again. My husband and I continue to focus on our real estate business and recently launched a complete course helping people with no experience who want to create passive income or leave a legacy get started in real estate investing.
I also started a YouTube channel & IGTV (@CrissyMac) that focuses on my kidney failure journey. I make YouTube videos every Wednesday and Sunday for those that are battling teaching them everything I have experienced in detail. I may have lost my kidney due to Lupus Nephritis but I continue to push forward. I believe we all have our own battles we are facing; my ultimate goal is to stay healthy and motivate others to never give up.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was not easy at all. My kidney failure was a setback for myself and my business because I had to go to dialysis three days a week for 4 hours at a time and when I got home, I was tired and still had to be a mother and a wife. My husband had to run everything himself until I got better.
CrissyMac & Georges Movement – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a kidney advocate that runs a real estate investing program called Georges Movement with my husband. I specialize in helping beginners get their first investment home. I’m known as the girl that deals with a chronic illness but never gives up. I’m proud to be helping others battle overcome their fears and showing them how to create passive income. Having the ability to show them life is not over even if you’re sick drives me each day to get up and work to create that environment. What sets me part is that I’m a young black female living with a chronic illness and I still find time to focus on my business. My business offers group coaching program that helps ensure results. We’re different because we don’t teach an aspect of real estate, we teach the whole process.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
When I hear how much I’ve impacted people’s lives. Also, when my 1st student got major results in only six days into starting the course. I’m so proud to know where I was and where I am today.
