Today we’d like to introduce you to Mya Brown.
Mya, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
JET NOIRE was born out of Mya’s core belief in the seamless fusion between fashion and identity. When you get dressed every morning, your outfit reflects the time and place you’re in at that moment. It’s an opportunity to show the world how you’re coming.
An up and coming fashion designer, Mya is known for empowering women to express their identities authentically through fashion. She is a huge believer that fashion and identity are blended together. Just like any other art form, fashion can be shaped to reflect emotions. Little by little, she began to take note of her love for fashion. Eventually, she knew it was time for her voice to be heard and the rest is history.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As any business can attest to COVID-19 has brought about unprecedented challenges, delays, and grievances. Throughout the last few months, There’s nothing like ordering fabric that should arrive in three days, and waiting three months for it to arrive. Mya had to constantly change plans and adapt to a new normal. JET NOIRE’s first campaign was actually shot in Mya’s bedroom a week or so after the lockdown in Atlanta began.

jetnoire.com is dedicated to dynamic and sexy women. We create effortless pieces with your specific body type in mind. We’re so excited to introduce our upcoming collection because it is a reflection of the values of our creator. Fashion should be customizable, it should be sustainable, and it should be carefully crafted. Our second collection will feature size-inclusive garments made to order right here in Atlanta, GA. Every piece of the garment is hand-selected with our end vision in mind.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Every time someone orders an item I’m ecstatic. When I first took this leap of faith, I was so nervous, what if no one supports, what if I don’t have any customers, etc… So to this day, whenever someone places an order, it’s my proudest moment. I grin from ear to ear and do a happy dance each and every time.
