Kim, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a little girl, I always had a passion for clothing, dressing up in my mother’s jewelry and clothing because I loved the way it made me feel. At an early age, I realized that a woman’s entire attitude and outlook on her life could be influenced by the clothing she wears. I took a leap of faith and started my boutique, I marketed to friends who supported me and then worked on building my brand.
Mainstream media teaches women that they need to wear European designers or high-end fashion to feel confident, which I do not agree with. I started Everything Mahogany boutique because I truly believe that good quality clothing should be available for all women. Whether you need an outfit to just run errands in or an outfit for a special event- I have the perfect option.
I truly believe in my brand’s motto which is “Happiness and Confidence are the two prettiest things a woman can wear”. I strive to provide excellent customer service to my customers through fast shipping, 24-hour response to messages, and emails and high-quality clothing.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, I took a year off from my business in 2019 to truly regroup and reflect on the business decisions I was making. This industry is truly competitive and it is important as a small business owner to reflect on what currently works for your brand and build on it. Yes, there has been struggles with believing that I would not grow – it’s important to not lose faith along the way and stick with your vision and goals.

Everything Mahogany Boutique is an online women’s boutique catering to the everyday woman who wants to stay trendy in high-quality clothing but at an affordable price point. What I am most proud of as a company is our ability to provide a high level of customer service and meet the needs of our clientele. Also, having superstars such as Letoya Luckett, Sevyn Streeter in my brand.
