Today we’d like to introduce you to Christa Boddie.
Christa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I graduated from the University of West Georgia with a Bachelor’s degrees in Business and a dual major in Marketing and Real Estate. Shortly after I landed a position as a Marketing Manager for a Real Estate firm, worked for the firm for almost four years but felt unfulfilled professionally and knew I needed a change. While working my Marketing Job I went to night school to study onxyology (the study of nails) for the ISSNMT, the International School of Skin, Nails, and Massage Therapy. The program was eight months and once I graduated, I started a full time career in nails as Entrepreneur and owner of CURE Nail Studio. This is my 3rd year in business for myself, and my business is better than ever!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I struggled with transitioning from a structured 9-5 position in the corporate world to making my own schedule. I didn’t realize working for myself didn’t mean I could just do whatever I wanted and still be successful. I had to organize my schedule just as if I were in my corporate job, manage my time wisely to get the most of my work day, and still make time for a personal life.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the CURE Nail Studio story. Tell us more about the business.
Here at CURE Nail Studio, I offer a wide range of nail services including Natural Nail manicures and Pedicures, Nail Extensions, Sculpted Nails, Bling Nails, Nail art, Nail Classes and more! Clients are most impressed by the cleanliness of the salon and each and every client is treated with respect and positive energy throughout their service. CURE makes it easy and convenient for clients to schedule with online booking services and also offers custom Nail Care products for at home care.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t consider myself lucky or unlucky. I feel blessed I was giving the courage to step out on faith and chase a dream I had no idea I wanted initially. I keep a notepad of ideas, goals, etc. I had big plans for this business. I wrote it down and followed through (word to Nipsey Hussle).
