Phil, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The idea of PhiSho Delivers started as something I wanted to freelance to just a couple of friends and family. COVID-19 has completely revitalized the shopping and delivery market but I wanted to come into a space of where I could do it personally for people so there’s that elevated level of trust and familiarity, and a way to bypass the complications of your bigger companies, (e.g. customer service wait times, securing an available delivery window) Ultimately, the need to keep folks socially distanced in places like grocery stores was realized with my service for those who are wary of any random person being assigned their order. Little did I know that there was a platform called dumpling that’s been around since 2017 that shares that empowers business owners with a shopping and payment app for customers. Once I partnered with them, the rest is history…
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s definitely been a bumpy road mainly trying to remain corona free and attracting new customers. Like with all new business ventures you find yourself in the red with all the expenses as I try to turn a profit. However, I’m confident in my vision and this service being profitable for years to come.

It provides full grocery shopping with constant communication for new customers and clients about their preferences and a guaranteed safe experience from me as their shopper utilizing a mask and sanitizer. Unlike Instacart and others; one pays the price for products as its listed in the store as opposed to paying markups, insulated bags for every delivery to keep items temperature controlled, and the ability to shop any store that accepts a VISA credit card. What’s more is the option to have alcohol delivered, dry cleaning, prescriptions, and virtually anything can be picked up and delivered to your door. What makes me proud of this company is the consistent stellar reviews I’ve received of my service. Providing the best customers service to people especially those immunocompromised is what gives me satisfaction!
What were you like growing up?
I was the kid that always proud of my Nigerian heritage and always did the work that was presented to me. I wasn’t by any means perfect but I always had this sense of whatever I’m working on I want to not only do it but finish and finish well. My personality is calm, cool, and collected with anything I approach and I’ve always been geared towards technology making things easier for everyone.
