Today we’d like to introduce you to Roxo.
Roxo, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started writing music/songs in elementary school when I started a group with my two best friends. In 7th grade, I began recording myself and ever since then, I’ve been working and learning everything I could to get better. It’s taken a lot of perseverance but it’s paid off.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not really. Music has been the one thing that’s kept me sane and grounded. Living in a single-parent household with my dad not in the picture very much had really affected me, I believe. And a couple of years back, my best friend was killed in the Waffle House shooting and really messed me up but I’ve gotten through it and it gets a little easier everyday.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m a musician overall. I’m a songwriter, producer, singer, guitarist and pianist. I’m proud of everything I’ve accomplished and knowing I’m so young at 19, I have so much more room to grow.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I just want to be bigger than the Beatles and leave an impact/legacy that has a chance to change the world in a positive way. Longevity is always what I strive for.
