Raven, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My start in entrepreneurship began in July of 2015 as a junior in college! I birthed my first business baby ‘Minx By Raven,’ a beauty enhancement experience specializing in lash artistry! I had no idea at the time the waves I was making introducing the services to Montgomery, AL. It wasn’t a popular service there and I’m still grateful to be one of the firsts to introduce it! Upon graduating from Auburn University of Montgomery in 2016, I decided to stick with my business brand and fully devote to my growing vision — never used my degree!
Minx By Raven is still a foundational and solid piece of my current offerings to the world! I was 22 and new to the beauty industry but it felt natural, granted my trust in myself was tested at times, nonetheless I chose to prevail! My pursuit with lashing expanded into teaching others the art after about three years of commitment and personal training!
In the midst of life, relationships, entrepreneurship and all that comes with it, I found myself in a dark space at times. There are many sides to being a business owner and balancing that as a blossoming woman with other life distractions gets challenging to say the least. I’ve always been independent in nature, very driven and ambitious almost to a fault (a true Capricorn woman) and self-love has been my greatest lesson of life so far! I wasn’t shown that level of intimacy in my formative years to truly embody that relationship within myself to have a sure footing to support the woman that needed to be nurtured. Minx By Raven was also my introduction to creating and embodying what I thought self-love to be at that stage in my life! I noticed that creating a safe haven, building trust based bonds with other women, being inviting a& servicing others not only made me feel good but realizing that we as women deserve this level of intimacy and an outlet to cater to ourselves!
My relationship with myself continues to fluctuate based on a few beliefs, factors, and opinions of others & not knowing how to parent myself in a few ways was becoming more evident. I found myself continuously pouring into my business and relying on my passion in that area to see me through my personal shifts/breakthroughs. #MBR was a creative distraction on one end of the spectrum as well as my source of happiness and livelihood on the other. My reality yielded another result and Minx By Raven transitioned into Raven’s Way Beauty! This expansion included my merge into esthetics and facial services, the addition of eyewear and reusable strip lashes, apparel, & (randomly) accessories! This is where my journey began with finding a way to continue offerings of self-love with added intention, Raven’s Way of beauty!
Front end was flourishing while on the back end, I was high key falling apart! I was losing me in some areas & finding myself in other areas which was just my honest truth! My offerings of love & what I was producing was contingent upon the agreement I had based on what love looked like to me… beauty. I had only met myself that far and was clearly in need of a deeper innerstanding of self-love on a soul level. To further elaborate, my higher self was always present dropping gems for me even though my perspective was passively toxic. So my tiptoe into spiritual oneness began in a very unconscious manner. Believe me, my love for hamsa hand pendants and protection amulets shocked me too! But, me being a creative, fashion-forward, and a businesswoman made it make sense! My soul was telling me things and I was slowly waking up to the calls. I was juggling entrepreneurship and this major fear of being alone, along with some other self-sabotaging patterns I think we as people grow through when we decide to start actively moving towards living a life of rooted in our purpose!
One good day I made the decision to change my mind! I started therapy and surrendered to the personal pain in exchange for my purpose! I’ve experienced major transformations, created spaced for new beginnings, and here I AM! A new resident of ATL (11 months), still a lil beauty maven but also a registered yoga instructor, budding herbalist, intuitive practitioner, etc. & apparently a hidden gem in the city! From Minx By Raven to Raven’s Way Beauty now to Xane Wellness the ball is still rolling! Safe to say that WE have arrived!
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been a ride like none other! Having a business that’s so intertwined with who I am and growing along with it is a journey in itself! My path to where I am now truly embodies a soul evolution as the main factor. It’s a true ‘rose from concrete’ type of energy! My business transitioned from me being of service based on a trade/developed skill set to me physically being my business as a full entity as a yoga instructor /advisor! I had to literally shed so many personal limitations and heal areas of my self-esteem issues rooted in childhood trauma to see and be seen in this light. Those were my struggles along the way and they were layered. Imposter syndrome, forgiveness of self, developing compassion… that holds major weight on my personal road to fulfillment. Always knowing and deeply feeling I was meant for more, to give in a significant way & actually deciding to step into that was the toughest turn in the game for me! Well worth it simply because I deserved that freedom and means of authentic expression, just had to gift it to myself! We all deserve that type of self-devotion, everything we are fighting for is our birthright!

Xane (pronounced Zane) Wellness is built on freedom, infinite love, and awareness of Self (capital S)! That’s my big baby, it’s my all-encompassing, all-knowing, all feeling, love spewing, life giving baby! Xane Wellness is the brand now, Xane Organix is the healing product line of herbal soul care and handmade self-care products, & Xane Wellness Sanctuary is the safe space for servicing and hands-on healing!
Xane means “gracious gift” and to be “zany” is someone who is odd/eccentric and doesn’t fit the normal mold of society! By definition of those two examples given, I Am just that, WE are that! Lol, I’ve created space for all the rebels with a cause’ to stand in our power, to be confident in our awareness of Self, and to discover the luxury of healing in our own unique way! Xane Wellness creates space for healing in all forms energetically, physically, and spiritually! From herbal smoke blends to yoni steams, private yoga sessions, energy reports, facials, … its the whole 9 yards! Xane Wellness is a true representation of Mind Body Soul Awareness! This is a reflection of my personal evolution and how it’s shown in all that I intuitively create for us, by us!
I am not subject to just one modality, clearly! I am a registered yoga/meditation instructor where I provide 1/1 privates and small group sessions (virtually & here in Atlanta)! I am an intuitive practitioner to a daily growing client base where I use a few forms of divination to guide others to clarity. I’m a womb wellness facilitator/budding herbalist & I provide space for private steam sessions! I am also still an esthetician/lash artist! To sum that all up in terms of what I specialize in, I’d have to say the arts of intuitive energy healing! Present day thanks to social media, I’m thankfully known for just about all I offer! Atlanta by way of yoga/advisory taking the top spots due to the new virtual climate!
What I’m most proud of as a company is the growth, especially with the Xane Organix skincare and herbal shop in the midst of the social climate! The fact that I can create products that heal others on a physical as well as spiritual/energetic level and it’s trusted as well as supported is major for me as a beginner in that arena! Just really proud of the live my brand has been shown since day 1! It’s magical to say the least!
I feel what sets me apart is my ability to meet people where they are on their journey and still be able to hold space for them as a business/healer sets me apart from others! One might be in a space to receive physical self-care in terms of a beauty service to build their confidence, I can meet them there. Getting into alignment on a soul level along with womb healing might be where you are, I’m there! Grounding in the present moment and working through one’s personal physical/energetic oneness might be another’s path to peace through yoga/meditation & I can again, meet you there! My vision to bring beauty + wellness together in this manner wasn’t relatable to some but it was for ME to understand and see through! Xane is my gracious gift that keeps giving!
Being a business entity that serves the collective in a mind. Body, soul fashion by choosing these routes is true alchemy to me! It’s a unique formula to provide, a true magical experience, transforming impossible to “impossible!” I’ve happily created a sanctuary for Self!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, I feel Xane Wellness has found a home here! Atlanta is so diverse and has a space for everyone to come in and create their niche! Many foundations already exist here in a plethora of industries which can be intimidating to others starting out but it’s all about perspective! If I can, you can! My outlook on moving here was that everything I have to offer is familiar to Atlanta and most importantly to my people/target audience! So I was more so excited to come and build my way up to “big dawg” status doing what I love! Everyone comes here to pursue some type of dream, this just so happens to be mine! I feel like I’d you can make it in the melting pot of Atlanta you can make it anywhere! The support for us is real out here!
