Thanks for sharing your story with us Shamara. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I began my career in corporate event planning per Winston Salem State University, where I was responsible for planning various admission events such as fall/spring open house, alumni events, etc. After realizing my passion for event planning, and organization, I began to take action to start my own company and enrolled myself in a training course. From that course, I received my “Social & Corporate Event Planning” certification.
The Twenty Six Group (T26G) was birthed in 2017, and we hit the ground running! Within our three years in business, we have had the pleasure of planning weddings, social, and corporate events. Recently we expanded and became a two-phased company where we offer event planning and marketing solutions. At The Twenty Six Group, our mantra is Create. Plan. Execute. is everything we do. T26G is an event planning and creative agency, based in Charlotte, NC, and serves North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and other surrounding states. “With each client, our goal is to successfully bring their vision to life; while creating an amazing, memorable experience.”
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has definitely been some struggles along the way! We’ve had two constant struggles, which have been for us to find our niche in the industry, and how to showcase what we truly do! We are solely event planners, and that’s hard to put into a visual, without clients getting confused or having other expectations. For example, when clients see pictures of a finished event, they typically assume that we have put together the decor, or the lighting, and/or etc. However, we were responsible for planning the event, and figuring out to bring that vision to life. The second struggle with finding our niche, has been a long road! However, we recently rebranded, took the necessary steps to end that struggle. Our niche is event planning and marketing!

At The Twenty Six Group we coined the phrase “Event Broker” because of our ability to connect our clients dreams with the perfect team to make their vision a reality. We are a two phased company, and we offer our clients event planning and marketing! We specialize in intimate social events, and corporate events. For example, our services include: company retreats, dinner parties, bridal showers, weddings, and birthday parties, just to name a few. On the marketing side of things, we have offerings that produce a one on one touch, to help our clients business, or event stay on track; by doing a deep dive of their current marketing strategies, and assisting them with improving their process. We Create. We Plan. We Execute.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing! Every mistake we made has helped us to this day! I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and our reasoning was that so we can be better. Our first two years was like a trial run, what worked? What didn’t work? What is still working? If I didn’t have those mistakes to learn from, we wouldn’t be the thriving T26G that we are today!
