Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Huff.
Tiffany, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Dainty Treats & Design started off as a hobby, growing up I was always creative whether it was music, writing, or designing different things.
In 2018, I came across a few different YouTube channels of people designing different party needs such as invitations, custom favors, and themed treats. I quickly fell in love with the entire process and started to try everything I possibly could. I spent all my free time practicing dipping candy apples, pressing t-shirts, designing in photoshop, assembling favors, etc.
Fast-forwarding to the beginning of 2019, I offered to help a close friend with her wedding. I designed her bridal shower invitations, wedding invitations, bridesmaid boxes, t-shirts, and a few other items. She loved the outcome of everything, so from there I offered to help a few other friends with their upcoming events as well. I eventually became the “go-to” person for my friends and family events. I started to receive so many orders that by the end of 2019 I decided to make my business official and Dainty Treats & Design was born!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
A big struggle in my business was building the confidence to promote outside of friends and family. I was always worried about not meeting my potential customers’ expectations and my product pricing being too high or too low, which lead me to run away from putting myself out there.
Another struggle was being disciplined. Even though a lot of people get into entrepreneurship because they want to “be their own boss,” it takes a great amount of discipline on your part in order for your business to survive. You have to push through even when you don’t have any support, feeling tired, sick, unmotivated, or just over the whole business itself.
So, this road to success has definitely not been smooth or easy, but when you finally decide to take a leap of faith the journey will be worth-while.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Dainty Treats & Design story. Tell us more about the business.
Dainty Treats & Design is a business that offers customized items for all event needs. We are known for taking a client’s idea no matter how big or small and turning it into reality. We specialize in themed treats, party favors, and T-shirts. What sets us apart from others is our ability to focus on all details no matter how big or small. Sometimes those small details will take your event from good to exceptional! We are most proud of the joy we bring each client when they receive their order for their event. We take pride in our work and it definitely shows in our finished product.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
With everything in life, there is a possibility of luck playing a role in the success of your business. For me, I actually do not believe in good or bad luck. I believe that through hard work, determination, and faith any dream can become a reality. So personally, do I believe that luck has played a role in my business, could have, but I just look at it as I am blessed.
