Meet Denitria Pollard and Kiara McCrary of Destination Kingdom in Virtual

Today we’d like to introduce you to the Co-hosts of the Destination Kingdom Podcast, Denitria Pollard and Kiara McCrary.

Denitria and Kiara, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Thirteen years ago, we met over an afternoon snack during Literature class, and we’ve been best friends ever since. We’ve supported each other through the good, the bad, and the righteous. Destination Kingdom started as a joke that we would one day have a platform to share these stories and life lessons. Who knew that God was really planting a seed for the future?! In 2019, after much procrastination, we finally decided to take the leap of faith and birth Destination Kingdom, LLC.

Has it been a smooth road?
Making the Destination Kingdom Podcast a reality has definitely not been a smooth road. Despite personal life-changing events, we also battled with procrastination and our own insecurities about sharing our stories. We ultimately had to make a decision to be obedient to the vision God placed in our hearts. Either do it scared or don’t do it at all. We chose to do it scared AND blind to what the future would hold.

Please tell us about Destination Kingdom.
Destination Kingdom is a podcast with God at the focus. It focuses on two friends, Denitria and Kiara, who have transformed from teenagers to mature women (with a little bit of crazy). We are redefining what it looks like to have an authentic relationship with God! (Saved with a little bit of Ratchet! Hello!)Tune in to this adventure as we answer the call of God by sharing our stories and how we’ve made it through 13 years and counting… of real friendship and honest conversations.

As a company, we are most proud of the impact we have made thus far on the lives of our “Real Friends” (because no one is just a listener to DK!). Hearing the feedback of people going back to counseling, looking for church homes, and having stories that they can relate to lets us know this has not been in vain. Being that we have been friends for 13 years, we offer that authentic relationship to our listeners. The Destination Kingdom Podcast invites our audience to become a part of the “Real Friends” family as we have honest conversations about life, doubt, relationships, and Jesus.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Over the next 5-10 years, we foresee podcasts becoming the new version of Daytime Talk shows. Since podcast hosts have the freedom to be as transparent and unfiltered as they choose, listeners easily gravitate to shows that they find relatable. Podcasts also offer a platform that allows for more listener engagement, thus allowing targeted audiences to receive preferred content in real-time. For companies looking to expand their reach to a specific audience, the podcast industry allows for podcasters and companies to be of mutual benefit by providing the listeners with the products/services that are most relevant to them. Podcasts are beginning to take over radio and commercialized ads and will continue this trend for years to come.
