Hykeem, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It all started when I discovered the passion of writing poetry at the age of 10, which also open up the doors for acting and working as PA from time to time on movies and tv shows! I almost lost my passion from writing because of a book i was writing a few years after had gotten misplaced so it was challenging to keep the rhythm but My mom encourages me a lot to always push for my dreams and passions! Which is why Empowertalk was a no brainer! I wanted to have a platform that was all about Empowering!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road or should I say cookies and cream lol that’s my fave! Anyways What I mean was it has not always been shiny. I have had my rainy days where I wanted to give up but never have I done so and never will, I keep a smile reminder of why I started! I have a big dream and I want the world to see it and experience it! Some of my struggles were losing almost everything from jobs or loved ones and people who I thought had my best interest. I have always been a free-spirited and loving person and will give the clothes off my back to anyone in need so that will never change no matter what I experienced! This is why Empowertalk has been a great success so far because this something I created and can call my own and share it with like-minded individuals!
Empowertalk – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Empowertalk is a Panel Talk, Podcast, Event hosting. We also promote ads from all types of artists and entrepreneurs! I can say what I am known for is Inspiring and empowering my friends and family, so why not have a business or platform That you can share with the world and connect with amazing people while changing lives! I say what sets me apart is that I’m authentically genuine 24/7. I’m myself always! I am most proud of as a company that I have met people who I never even imagine connecting with, and the thing about me is I love making others around me happy so to see a smile or get great feedback from ppl who I never met or just met, I know my job as been well done which is priceless!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as happiness. You have to get out of your own way and just be happy and live in the moment while putting yourself first! I’m always creating and making waves. i have got some great advice as well along my journey that always and until this day, has stuck with me was from janet hubert when i met her for the first time while working on a pilot episode, she told me if you dont make waves then the boat will go no where.I figure to always keep your dreams ahead and manifest it into reality!
