Today we’d like to introduce you to Mia Blake.
Mia, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started off owning innovative wellness and health-centric spa named Goddess Body Sculpting and Beauty Spa in South Fulton. The Spa’s addition to the rapidly growing city was seen as a decisive step towards transforming it in a veritable “live, work, play community”- one that which both residents and visitors from neighboring counties enjoyed a wide variety of services in. Through the Spa, Goddess Body Boutique LLC was born. I realized in addition to getting body treatments. Women loved shopping for accessories and clothing. They wanted a one-stop-shop, so in response, I started providing those things for them, especially during the holidays. Today Goddess Body Boutique is an online boutique that provides stylish, trendy, affordable threads for every woman with just one click. And the best part about that is we are shipping worldwide. We are also restructuring and rebranding our local body sculpting services in Atlanta and will hopefully make a come back in 2021. I know for a fact that a lot of our clients are anticipating the launch of our new and improved online store and the same will be true for our sculpting services. The Goddess Body Brand is spreading our wings and evolving.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The saying “Nothing worth having comes easy” is so true. This road had been very bumpy since the start of the Goddess Body Brand back in 2017. The struggles of owning a business were constant, but they were all learning curves that helped us improve and grow along the way. One of the biggest struggles that I personally had was the separation of business and personal relationships. In addition, the struggles of being able to separate our business model from our competitors was also a challenge at first, but we have been able to overcome that by focusing on Key Features and Benefits, Providing Extraordinary Service, Focusing on a Niche and supporting causes that are important to our community.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Goddess Body Boutique launched in 2017 and we are a 24/7 online boutique that will introduce fashion collections that appeal to the everyday woman, divas, and fashionistas. Goddess Body Boutique is making fashion accessible, affordable, and fun so every woman can get the wardrobe that will reflect the goddess within. We started out as a Med Spa in Atlanta and are known for our body garments and fashion accessories. I’m so proud of the evolution of the brand and having the ability to offer cutting-edge fashion to the everyday woman of all shapes and sizes while still accomplishing our founding goal of “making people feel good both on the inside and out.” That’s what sets our Boutique apart from others, our ability to give women a voice through their own personal style. By bringing out their inner Goddess strength and confidence through fashion.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I must say I was quite the drama queen. I was always taught to look my best and had my mother to look up to. I had the infectious ability to connect with many different groups of people through my smile and sense of style. I was always known as a “Diva” because of the way I dressed and accessorized my outfit. In the words of my late Aunt Faye, “she has been wearing heels since she was 15.” I knew I could standout through my style, which added to my personality. If you look good, you feel good and that’s the type of confidence that many admire… While I got criticized for being too over the top and told to dim it down a little, that never stopped me but propelled me.
