Today we’d like to introduce you to Crucial BGR.
So, before we jump into specific questions about your music, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started rapping in 2018; around that time, I was just flirting with the idea of being a recording artists. One thing lead to another and I ended up getting in the studio and here we are today. I’m from Savannah, Georgia but I’m Charleston-based artist.
Has it been a smooth road?
Being an upcoming artist has been nothing short of a challenge. Whether it’s physical or spiritual challenges, they’re challenges nonetheless. I’d say the biggest one is wrapping my head around so many of my moves being public or highlighted. It’s just not something I’m used to especially being such a closed-off person when it comes to my life.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m known for music but that doesn’t quite capture what I mean. The way I rap is heavily calculated to the point that I can number the way I rhyme or make up a scheme. Being based in Charleston is a pro and a con all in one because I don’t sound like a Charlestonian. So it can be easily pointed out, yet hard to gravitate to at times.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yeah, I feel like Atlanta is a great place for recording artists given its track record with pushing rappers to stardom. I think Georgia in general, is a great place to be a rapper, especially in its recent years.
