Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Tilley.
Crystal, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always been gifted with my hands and began to find my way using my God-given talents; I was a manager over the sweets store at Six Flags Over Georgia. It was there where I found my nitch and inspiration. After being at Six Flags for 12 years, I decided to step out on my faith and that’s when I founded Arlene & Co.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. There were many times I wanted to give up but with my faith and trust in God, I stood strong and continued to use the talents that he’s blessed me with. The biggest struggle that I have faced when starting my business is the fear of failing. There are so many people that offer the same service that as I do, but I have to remember that I am different and that’s what keeps me motivated.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Arlene & Co. – what should we know?
Arlene and Company Incorporated is a confectionary gourmet treat business. I specialize in anything covered in chocolate. From strawberries, apples, rice crispy treats, Oreos, and pretzels! I am known for my delicious chocolate-covered strawberries and candy apples. I am most proud of my ability to put a smile on all of my customer’s faces with my tasty treats! I believe my passion, personality, creativity, love and passion for what I do sets me apart from others.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I believe my faith, drive, and passion for my business is the most important characteristic to my success. Like I said previously, there are a lot of people who do the same thing that I do but I most definitely feel like my drive to step out and be creative, while also enjoying what I do plays a huge part in my success.
