Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Garnier.
Jason, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Full-time, I am a pilot for Delta. After 9-11, I was furloughed for about two years and thought it would be an opportunity to start my own business. I have always had a passion for cars and understand the frustration people may have with dealing with some car dealerships. I got my dealers license and started my business. I went back to flying after my furlough and now specialize in brokering luxury cars as well.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not always been easy. The automobile market is constantly changing and the way people buy cars has completely changed. I used to carry inventory, but being small like myself, it was very difficult to compete with large dealerships with large overhead and financing options. About 5 years ago, I quit carrying inventory and now specialize in locating vehicles for customers.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I specialize in luxury cars, but have to opportunity to locate just about any vehicle. My goal is to make our transaction one of the best car buying experiences. I am very picky about the cars I buy and my customers are very involved with the process. My goal is not only to get a very nice vehicle, but to make sure the car my customers are buying are priced right where they should be. Because of this, I do not do any advertising and all of my customers have been previous clients or referrals.
What were you like growing up?
I have always loved the outdoors and being active. I cannot sit still. I always liked to challenge myself be it athletics or chasing new opportunities. I always had an interest in anything transportation related as a kid and am still fascinated with it.
