Meet Ashley Reis of Lady Boss Box in Suwanee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Reis.

Ashley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Yes! So Lady Boss Box was created because I had received a subscription box from another company and was disappointed when I opened it because it wasn’t what I was expecting. I researched and saw that there really wasn’t another subscription box company solely focused on female entrepreneurs that were providing more than just monthly online trainings. That’s when I began I began curating and developing Lady Boss Box.

My entrepreneurial journey actually. I was teaching in a middle school and created a profile in UpWork. Four and a half years later, I have created an agency that assists other female entrepreneurs with their business needs.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My launch was actually supposed to be in March/April and then the pandemic hit. I put off putting my first box out until July because it didn’t sit right with me to be running ads, marketing, etc, while our community was going through an extremely tough time. I have also had major issues with shipping delays and finding the right vendors to work with! Like you said, it definitely it isn’t easy but if you really want to make your business successful, you will find a way to make it work.

We’d love to hear more about Lady Boss Box.
Lady Boss Box is a subscription box company that is curated specifically for female entrepreneurs. Our mission is to provide monthly inspiration, happiness, and inspire growth in our subscriber’s businesses, careers, or side hustles. I think what sets us apart so far is the products that we include in the box! We don’t include filler products like snacks or generic items. All the products we source are high-quality and not available in most stores or Amazon. Plus we are focusing on sourcing from female-owned small businesses.

What were you like growing up?
If you ask my parents, I bet they would say I was a handful! I was (and still am) very strong-willed and determined. I was taught not to give up on something just because it didn’t work the first time and that I need to complete a project/activity once I started it.

I have been dancing since I was super young and loved being creative. My parents actually bought the dance studio I started at and have been running that ever since. Both my parents are extremely hard workers. My mom has a 9-5 job and then teaches at the dance studio. They both really inspire me to be hard-working and honest.
