Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Torres.
Tina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Over 14 years ago, I realized people, mostly entrepreneurs, were struggling with their follow up and customer retention. I knew I could develop a system that could help these struggling business owners. I started teaching workshops and hosting events to help them create their own follow-up system. Recently I created the Connection to Client Course that allows them to go through a course that they can do at their own time and pace. It allows them to implement each step as they go so it doesn’t overwhelm them. We go over the mindset you need to create such a business and goals that they can set. I give them tools that I have used for years that will help them automate some of the processes as well.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I went through one of the darkest times in my life recently. I finalized my divorce after 20 years in a toxic marriage, I became an empty nester when my youngest of the three boys joined the U.S. Army, I lost a six figure corporate job, and I moved to a town where I knew no one. I was alone, depressed, and had no one in my life to help me get through but a few long-distance friends. I sat in this dark depression for about 90 days as I watched my life go from dark to darker as the days went by. People who I thought were my friends turned their backs on me, my family turned against me and I grew farther away from God than ever before. I finally picked myself up, reaching for my bible and a journal that I began writing everything I was grateful for in each morning and evening. I would find three things to be grateful for even if they were small.
Within weeks I started meeting people that would soon take me to a few people who saw my potential I thought I lost. They helped me relaunch my business and get myself back on my feet again. I relaunched my coaching and marketing business, wrote a #1 Best Selling Book called The Gratitude Journal and I started my speaking career. I recently started hosting a Virtual Summit once a month where I get speakers from all over the world to come and speak people like Les Brown, Sharon Lechter, Bill Walsh, Joe Kenemore, and many more. I started speaking on other people’s stages and have been able to share the stage with Jack Canfield, Forbes Riley, Kevin Harrington, Les Brown, Sharon Lechter, and Bill Walsh, to name a few. I started a morning talk show with my friend, mentor, and coach Angel Tuccy and we just celebrated our 100th episode and are not syndicated on seven different platforms reaching over 300,000 households. I am writing my next book, “Beyond Gratitude,” Attracting and retaining your ideal client through authentic marketing and enjoying life once again.
Please tell us about The Gratitude Specialist.
The Gratitude Specialist LLC was founded in 2010 when I wanted to branch out on my own branding myself and not my company. I firmly believe that everyone should brand themselves and not the company they represent. We teach numerous things but we focus on client retention, follow up, and networking. As the founder and CEO, I now have an amazing team of experts working with me, helping my vision come alive. We strive to help all business owners know and understand the power of relationship building and just how important it is in business. The sale will come if you follow these proven steps.
Our branding definitely sets us apart from all the rest. We are a female-owned and operated company and our target market are female entrepreneurs so our branding attracts those everywhere we go. People see a photo or even a post and they immediately think of Tina Torres, The Gratitude Specialist. Our pink and white elegant, feminine, and classy look goes along with our personality.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Being authentic is the number one asset of mine these days. I don’t hold anything back and I don’t want to be like anyone else. I am loud, fun, and love to bring the energy to the room and people love it. People love my story and how real it is and how I was able to overcome so many things in such a short amount of time. It gives them hope and inspires them to do more and be more. I am glad I went through those difficult years in my life for I would not be who I am today without them. I am now able to help other women entrepreneurs know they have what it takes and help them turn their dreams into realities.
