Shanya, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It all started with Instagram, I grew my account more and more every year. Soon, I was asked to do my first brand ambassador gig! While shooting for that gig, I was approached by a modeling agency and grew with them for a year. Then I ventured out into my own thing, booking YouTube and music video gigs! Now I spend my days at Georgia State and growing my beauty brand, Nya Truu!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
So far, my journey has been a little rocky. I have been learning to grow my business, grow in my personal life as an adult, and jungle my academics.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success by the level of goal achievement I reach. I try to set a reasonable goal every day, week, and month to reach so I know what I need to do.
