Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabbrielle Steele.
Gabbrielle, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After graduating in 2012 from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide), a friend of mine was in the process of planning her wedding. During her wedding planning process, she quickly realized that she did not have a day-of-coordinator. After realizing how many weddings I had attended and how much I observed as a guest, I volunteered to be her coordinator. In my mind, I thought, “how hard could it really be!” Needless to say, her wedding day went off without a hitch. Being my first official wedding and not knowing where this would take me, I realized how much I enjoyed the entire wedding planning process and playing a vital role in a day that is so special to others.
Following my friend’s wedding, I began planning numerous family and friend’s life events. From there, I made a choice to birth Steele Unique Weddings & Events. I take pride in my keen eye for detail, building trustworthy and long-lasting relationships with each client and treating every client’s event as my own. I feel that the biggest reward of all is witnessing my client’s vision come to life beyond their expectations. To get a more in-depth look into the wedding planning industry, I reached out to my mentor Zephanie Curlett of Z. Curlett Events in Atlanta, GA and began working as a wedding planning assistant. I can say working with Zephanie is where I learned the ins-and-outs of the wedding planning industry from top to bottom. Some of those weddings and events can be found as featured in the B Collective Magazine, on Munaluchi Bride’s blog, & Essence Magazine’s blog.
Has it been a smooth road?
I can honestly say starting this journey was definitely a challenge mostly because I had to find my balance of being a military wife, mom, HR professional and businesswoman. Now that I have learned to balance them both and with the decision of adding the perfect women to my team (Gabrielle Nation & Ashley Allen) Steele Unique Weddings & Events is better than ever and smooth sailing. The biggest challenge I faced was this year was the passing of my Grandmother in . Her passing happened the middle of an event-packed month and sent me on a whirlwind of emotions. She was one of my biggest cheerleaders and who inspired my taste of elegance and love for flowers . Growing up she taught me the definition of strength and perserverence and those two factors alone have give me the boost I needed to move forward.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Steele Unique Weddings & Events story. Tell us more about the business.
Steele Unique Weddings & Events is an upscale wedding and event planning agency servicing Alabama, Georgia, Florida, & South Carolina. Our goal and first priority is to avidly tailor every wedding or event to uniquely fit each client’s desire. We intentionally work closely with our clients to bring their visions to life. With our creative minds and impeccable eye for detail, we set the foundation for our clients’ experiences. Our mission is to bring the vision of your celebrations to fruition in a truly unforgettable way. The one thing that sets us apart from others is that my team and I are truly genuine individuals and because of that, we build not only client relationships but also long-lasting relationships with our clients and become a true family.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5-10 years, I see my industry growing beyond not only my wildest dreams but fellow wedding planners and vendors dreams also. I think the sky is the limit for us all.
