Being from New York it gives this indescribable strength. It gives you a sense of passion and ambition. I grew up in New York but I also moved around a lot. Atlanta was where I decided to move to start my life at the age of 25. I always knew that my life would be interesting. I met Asia, my business partner along the way. A person with the same drive, goals, and ambition. I have a calling, and even though I try to make other career choices.
God has a plan for my life and he controls the direction of the train I call life. Down to the people he has blessed in my life so far and the ones he removed. I have learned plenty of lessons along the way. After so many, No’s and being told I couldn’t do what I knew in my mind I could do. I reached out to Asia to act on a project I was working on. We both have a background in the entertainment business from dancing, acting, producing, directing, editing, and even writing. Who knew two New York natives that came to Atlanta with goals and dreams of making it in the industry; that a project would lit a flame and started us on our journey to creating FilmFlex Films.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We always knew we would be asked a question like this. When COVID hit, we didn’t expect to be trying to open a company within six months but when you are stuck at home, you have nothing but time. So trying to start a company with little to no funds, a whole lot of faith and hard work, you think it will be a smooth road. Ha, a smooth road No. Not at all, Is anything ever really smooth?. Honestly, if building this company was easy, we would feel like we are not doing something right. Anything worth having comes with its bag of challenges but it’s all in how you choose to handle what may come your way.
Our biggest struggle is our personal lives, so many distractions. Within the time of opening the company, Me, as the CEO, had dealt with losses from close friends, a relationship, and the death of an ex-fiancé all in the 1st three months. Asia, who is the Vice President, is a single mother. So with both of us juggling full-time jobs, home life, and keeping our mental health intact while building an empire has been a challenge, to say the least. Each day we push through, we push forward, we put God as our first priority. Every day has been a challenge but here we live and breathe our motto, Honest, Hungry, and Humble. That means be true to yourself and others, never give up no matter how hard it may be, and always be thankful and don’t take anything for granted.

FilmFlex Films is built on the foundation of the three H’s, Honest, Hungry, and Humble. Our team is created with hungry inspiring young filmmakers. We strive to make honest connections and honest working relationships. We specialize in video production. FilmFlex Films is run by two hungry women with an appetite to be the best. We also strive to help young filmmakers become the best. We offer both writing and acting classes online, which most production companies don’t do.
