Meet Taylor Towns of Hues of Bleu’ in West Side

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Towns.

Taylor, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I always had a love for fashion. Even as an adolescent, I was always told I needed to do something within the fashion industry. I’m knew to have that “eye.” If it’s giving friends and family advice or just simply getting dressed, I always dreamed of owning a clothing line and displaying my gift to the world. The inspiration behind Hues of Bleu’ was given birth in 2017 to my son Denim Bleu’, I noticed the lack of fashion for boys. After many hours of research and planning, I realized it was time to change the game. Due to the priorities of single motherhood, the business stalled, however, given rebirth in 2020. The Hues of Bleu’ launched. Hues of Bleu’s is a brand focusing on boys fashion but still offering some of the most fashion-forward and trendy apparel.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Yes and no. The foundation of Hues of Bleu’ has been instilled in me by my parent’s entrepreneurship. Both of them, in their own rights, are successful business people. I would say if I can say challenges, I would, unfortunately, blame it on the pandemic because it caused a delay in products being received. But regardless, this has been an exciting journey for my company and me.

Hues of Bleu’ – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Hues of Bleu’s is a brand focusing on boys fashion but still offering some of the most fashion-forward and trendy apparel. I am most proud of finally having my brand come to life as well as me becoming a mother and having my son as inspiration. What sets Hues of Bleu’ apart from other brands is that we make shopping with us a fun experience, some of our items can be personalized and some of our items are dedicated to boy moms and, I think customers really have been enjoying that so far. On top of that, I like unique pieces. I wouldn’t create or put out anything that I wouldn’t dress my son in.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
How I personally feel about success? You can have all the money in the world but still not be happy. So to me, I feel like HAPPINESS is the key to success. My connection to my clients goes beyond the sale. It’s not about the sale. It’s about how my clients feel wearing HUES OF BLEU’ and the experience that they received. And, me being happy overall with the outcome of my business knowing that I go hard for my brand, that’s what makes me successful.
