Meet Iesha Potts of Eat with Eshh in Northside

Today we’d like to introduce you to Iesha Potts.

Iesha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started cooking as a child when I was ten years old. I always stood beside my mom in the kitchen when she was cooking. She taught me so much from all her famous recipes to all her mother’s recipes. I had four siblings outta those four. I was the oldest, which now I’ve five siblings because my mom had another child. I’m 29 years old I’m originally from Starkville, Ms. Everyday after school, I use to had to cook for my four siblings and me because my mother currently was working two jobs at the time just to make sure we had what we wanted, that we was well-taking care of, and that she made ends meet.

While she would be out at work working, we would be home waiting for her to come home ‘so everyday after school I would cook my siblings and me a good home-cooked meal I mean from country fried chicken, black eye peas, bake mac and cheese, homemade yams, spaghetti, corn salad, fried pork chop, collard greens whatever I was in the mood to cook I would literally cook it for my siblings and me even on the weekends while my mom was at work on Sunday’s I would make us Sunday dinner with some of my mom FAMOUS BANNA PUDDING that she taught me how to make that I now sell in small pans, and large pans also.

So over the years, as I got older, I always said, I wanted to have my own catering company “because I love to cook which cooking is my passion .I can really eye ball almost anything and make it without a recipe and with my eyes closed . So one day, I was sitting at home just mingling around the house and I said to myself Eshh want you start back selling dinners again and start catering  back in 2016 I had start selling dinners with a old friend of mines name Shayla however we would both get in the kitchen and do our thang . So I said to myself sense I would start back doing my dinners and also that I would start catering for parties, baby showers, events, whatever there is that would require my service for catering. I would cater to it so I told myself you got what it takes everybody loves your food especially Ann’s Banna Pudding which is my moms famous banana pudding that I named after her “So I said to myself you know what Eshh GO FOR IT ” so I decided to go for it and every sense then things been pretty good .I’m not quite yet where I want to be ,but I want stop until I get there . I’m currently building now ,working on a few things pertaining Eat With Eshh ,and looking for locations ‘so I can open up at a restaurant so it would be better for myself as well as better for my customers once I find a location for my business. I’ll post it on my Instagram business page to let all my customers know that we’ve now found a location “until then I’m currently still looking and searching for the perfect location guys.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I mean, I have my ups and downs where I’ve my days where I get overwhelmed and want to stop where I feel like it’s just me, but I always prayed and still pray and tell myself God didn’t bring me this far to stop.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Eat with Eshh – what should we know?
