Leah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As far back as I can remember, I’ve loved home decor. I have early memories of watching my mom create beauty with the use of her sewing machine. I was always amazed by how the things she’d whip up. Dresses, table clothes, curtains… watching her made me take notice of beauty around me; it helped me to understand colors and hues. While others wanted toys, I wanted a new paint color for my bedroom. I grew up in a house with five sisters, but it was me that she would ask to create a table settings for guests, me that she’d take to the wallpaper store. That cemented my love even stronger. The love of interiors gradually moved me to pay more attention to shapes. There’s no such thing as just a 90” couch. The shape makes or breaks the space.
I’m the proud owner of @boldfurnishings an online furniture store. Another part of what I do is stage homes and get them ready to be listed on the market. Staging a home is so important because it helps buyers understand how a room could feel with the use of great furniture placements, tasteful art and less personalized decor. Things like these maximize a room’s potential and get the deals closed quicker and for a higher dollar amounts. I work with homeowners, builders and real estate professionals. I truly believe that a home (whether yours or one for sale) should be beautiful. Function is an important part, but don’t stop until it’s beautiful.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not at all. By far, the most difficult struggle has been finding reliable and quality delivery. Originally we carried large items and offered nationwide shipping, but due to a few issues encountered along the way that compromised the experience that my brand strives for, changes had to be made. In addition to that, I am building my brand while still working full time. However, the punches weren’t going to keep me down so my team and I were able to learn from each negative to optimize our standard procedures so that we can better guarantee a beautiful experience.

We sell beautiful, high-quality furniture online at affordable prices. We also offer a design service where we assist our customers at any stage in life that they might be at. This can be to improve the appearance, design, aesthetics, etc. of their space. We are known for offering stylish on-trend and stylish accessories.
I am proud that we have a high rating of customer satisfaction. We operate in integrity, not only for the initial sale but also for the follow-up. We stand behind our product and will go the extra mile to ensure that each customer is totally satisfied with the experience that they have. Our design service and customer focus is what sets us apart. We are not your mother’s traditional furniture store.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have had more confidence in my business, even when things were slow and I was still working to build my brand. There was a time when I left my full-time job to run my business, but I eventually went back to my full-time job to keep a steady cash flow. I wish I would have held out a bit longer because the very systems/strategies that I was apprehensive about offering/learning ended up being the most popular and have provided me with the most attention and growth. Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box and constantly reinvent yourself!
